Lefty is going ape shit on reddit. My instincts tell me, the more outraged lefty acts, the more likely their version of the facts are suspect. Being a timid woodland creature, I rely on my instincts for survival.
One of the reddit lefties linked a NY Mag article that itself relies on an Axios article. I'll rely on the primary source. In both, the following passage appears:
https://www.axios.com/2025/04/28/us-citizen-children-deported-ice-honduras
When an attorney representing the father spoke with an ICE official, the official allegedly refused to honor a request to release the child to her custodian and said if the father came to retrieve her, he would also be taken into custody.
Got that? Daddy wants a custodian because daddy will be taken into custody if the cops catch sight of him.
What this tells me is: Daddy is a fugitive from the law. What none of these people are stopping to consider is the fact that you don't get to make demands of the government while you are a fugitive. If you want your kid, you have to dispose of your criminal charges first and then you can petition for custody. Until then, custody defaults to the other natural parent unless it can be shown they are unfit.
It's not like daddy can take custody of the kid and then take the kid into hiding with him; and it's not like a custodian takes priority over a fit natural parent.
Meanwhile, this popped up during my research:

This was 3 days ago. Lefty's masters have not bothered to tell them to stop making hay of this issue.

One of the big problems of our media. While they might tell the truth, they choose which truth to tell.
That’s wrong.
Tell the whole story or none of it.

And they chose how to tell it so that it fits their narrative.
The whole anchor baby needs to be brought up before the Supreme Court and worked out because I don’t think the way that they’re using it is what the whole thing is about

Not a bug, it's a feature. And always has been, and has been used and abused by every political ideology. The only defense is people who have critical thinking skills and are paying attention, gathering info from multiple sources and winnowing that down to the actual facts.
I need to read Brave New World, but I found a visual comparison of it and 1984 a while back that paints BNW as a world where people are kept distracted and overloaded with information. Seems to be more effective.

Huxley's BNW society was a society of people sexed and luxuriated and drugged into cogs pacifically and meaninglessly pursuing those meaning-surrogates.

Well now, that was insightful! Thanks for sharing.
