LuckyCharms (19,962 posts)
I was at a doctor's appointment the other day.
The NURSE who was interviewing me just before the doctor came in casually blurted out:
"My husband and I are totally against vaccinations, but he's been a smoker for a long time, and he has COPD, so I made sure he got the pneumonia vax".
I just stared at her while everything that is wrong with her statement started flooding my brain, and then my eyes glazed over.
Also, why do these people feel the need to tell others that they are anti-vax?
I don't blurt out to random strangers that I'm pro-vax.
It just something I wouldn't say. Especially out of the blue like that.
The same way that I don't blurt out how progressive I am.
These people are all over the place, and unavoidable.

This is going on my list of things that NEVER happened.

This is going on my list of things that NEVER happened.
Concur. I visit doctors' offices a couple of times a year, and while a nurse always does a checklist interview, they have NEVER gone randomly personal. At the same time, unless asked something specific, like when was my most recent tetanus booster, I NEVER bring up my vaccination history/views, because not needed.
BTW, the pneumonia vax does not use bogey-mRNA, and because it is for a bacteria, uses protein sub-unit rather than dead/inactivated virus technology.

Specifically, because what this "nurse" was telling this perfect stranger about her husband probably constitutes a HIPAA act violation. With about 5 minutes of verification, embedded Special Agents Frick and Frack should have enough information to start this nurse on the road to a new career in federal 'Pound You In The Ass" prison.
But, as you, my evaluation of the truthfulness of the DUmp'Rat's bouncy is right on Absolute ZERO

DUmmies need better stories
Unfortunately, to get a better grade of bouncy stories from the DUmp'Rats, you need a better grade of DUmp'Rat. Not going to happen, because there's a reason the DNC sequesters the DUmp'Rats in their li'l online insane asylum...

That was too stupid for words.

They just aren't the same quality as those that preceded them.

And then a virologist leapt out of the bushes and threw a brick at the nurse!
-
It's getting so bad it's not even worth reading their bouncy's but then again, how would we know just how far off the cliff they have gone?
-
Not sure why they even bother going to a Doctors office, I though weed was the cure all. :stoner:

That reminds me of the DU story about a trucker randomly supposedly blurting out something like "Man, Trump is so smart for enacting those tariffs!".

Apparently, this DUmmy doesn't know that being up to date on all vaccinations is a license requirement for the majority of medical providers. My wife is a nurse and not only is she required to get every seasonal vaccination for things like the flu and COVID, she also gets a blood draw once a year to check antibody levels from previous vaccinations. A few years ago, she had to get an MMR booster because something popped up in her lab results. There aren't any licensed American doctors or nurses who aren't up to date on their vaccines and none of them would just randomly bring up the issue. But maybe LuckyCharms was seeing a doctor in Mexico. Or maybe when he says "doctor appointment" he means trip to local marijuana shop. And maybe when he says "nurse" he means cashier at the local marijuana shop. Because he does spend a lot of time talking about getting stoned on whatever weed or gummies he got his hands on, and they do like to bring up their belief that marijuana is the ultimate medicinal marvel.

I'm sure that it is a lie since, as the coach always said, DUmmies lie all the time. They'd rather lie even if it was easier to tell the truth.
The interesting thing to me is that it seems that many of the people that the DUers and their masters, the party overlords, label "anti-vaxxers" aren't really against vaccines as much as they are against the government mandating vaccines and when you get them.

:hi5: for the info.
It may also be that the "doctor" in this story is its shrink (psychiatrists are MDs), and the nurse, knowing ChuckyLarms' socio-political views, trolled it with a fauxny :bouncy: just to see if it bought it.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
"Anti-vaxxers" are a mixed bag. Some really believe vaccines cause autism or other nonsense and eschew vaccinations entirely. Some, as you said, oppose government requiring vaccinations and/or the aggressive schedule of the past few decades. Those who oppose vaccines entirely are also a mixed bag when it comes to political views, some conservatives, some Libs/Progs (a conservative family acquaintance/friend literally believes that Moderna has hidden hundreds of thousand of bodies of people killed by The Vaccine; OTOH, on a now-defunct homeschooling discussion site, I saw anti-vax posts from anti-Wester-Medicine Libs).

I work in technology, and we even have to get all that crap or we aren't allowed to work in the medical facilities
