After 30 plus years of teaching, mentoring and medical research

my wonderful husband has had it. He, along with many of his colleagues, have decided to take early retirement and leave this bright red state.

We know of at least 24 researchers at various schools who are packing it in if they can. We are taking less retirement in order to get out of this mess.

Teaching is no longer valued at R1 institutions, just money. My husband looked for a soft landing at a small liberal arts school where teaching matters. Thankfully he found one to spend his final few years. If that doesn't work out he says he will take a job as a greeter at Wally World  .

Grad students now are horrible, the orange moron has decimated grant funding for medical research and administration no longer back faculty.

We are thankfully moving back to a blue state. Financially difficult but more than worth it.

I’m sure all the people where you’re living will be happy to see you go that’s one less vote to try and destroy a red state and turn it into a crap hole like other blue states. :thatsright: :loser:

I can’t for the life of me figure out why they have such a hard time living in a red state unless they walk around annoying everyone telling them that they’re a Democrat :lmao:

So you're admitting that Blue states are more expensive to reside in?

I would say that combined with piss poor financial planning.

She tries, not very successfully, to attribute years and decades of academic development to 3 1/2 months of the Trump Administration. :mental: She showed how stupid she thinks DUpipo are and is proven correct, including about herself.

After 30 plus years

Only 4 and a quarter of which Trump has been president

Grad students now are horrible,

Quick look, it appears grad students are in their late 20s- early 30s, meaning they were completed most of their education before Trump even announced his first run for presidency.  So how exactly is any of this Trump's fault?

Is Trump’s fault because he beat Harris and Clinton like a drum. Whatever happens now even always been in office 3 1/2 months is all his fault if he ever won the election instead of Biden, we wouldn’t be in this position so it’s his fault for losing the election that they stole.

It's DU we're talking about. They think history began withe Trump administration, and if you ask them, he's already destroyed the economy, made our air and water toxic, alienated all our allies, made the country illiterate, and initiated World Wars 3 through infinity.
