Now I'm OFFICIALLY terrified
Even if SCOTUS backs them off this arrest the judges shit, this country has crossed the Rubicon. How the hell do we recover from this?
Edit: I'm so sorry! I hate when people do this without context and here I go and do it myself! I didn't want to create a dupe but forgot to add the context:
"FBI arrests Wisconsin judge and accuses her of obstructing immigration officials"
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/25/judge-hannah-dugan-milwaukee-arrest
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220268522
You're officially retarded!

They act like the feds just walked up and clipped her off the streets. It was a warrant signed by another judge.

Now you're terrified? Left-wing movements around the world have been having their opponents arrested for some time now, and you're just now terrified?

Okay, the context is that authorities believe there is enough evidence to charge Judge Dugan with a crime, thus she's been arrested. It's not that we've crossed the Rubicon, it's that Democrats are used to being able to get away with shit like this.

Well Sparky, let's examine the situation you're defending. The judge harbored, aided, abetted, an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT who was deported in 2013 and facing three counts of domestic abuse – infliction of physical pain or injury.
Keep defending the indefensible, clowns. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

15. She may have been arrested because she shielded the person in question from ICE
and not because of a ruling. Anyone of us who interfered with ICE grabbing someone could also be arrested. This is different than arresting her for a decision.
Not positive on the details.

58. If you are looking to be terrified, then DU is the place to come. You will rarely find hope or good news here.
What you learn here is that there is no point in worrying because nothing is going to turn out alright. Accept that and you will find either inner peace or indigestion. Your choice.
My two favorite replies.

Cross the Rubicon? Where's nads at? She's the only one who can save us.

But only if she's got "the good rig" with her. If she had to pawn the good rig for beer and travel money,..

1 Officially? Decreed by what gooberment body?
2 This "Rubicon" is judges being subject to the law, not above or creating the law.
3 That is a "river" that should never be recrossed. Ditto the prosecution of Fraudster Letitia and Fani Willis. As even CNN talking heads had to admit, when you strip out the Trump-Hate and partisanship, Dugan committed a crime.

And just like that, after four long years of endlessly hearing that "No one is above the law" its like it never happened. :banghead:

As an aside:

I've been calling out DU-Denizens' habit of creating howl-threads without giving minimal context for years. It's practically a defining characteristic of DUpipo. :rotf: Perhaps DU-member LearnedHand is an occasional onlurker? :rotf:

No. One. Is. Above. The. Law.
Remember that DUchebags?
The "judge" committed at least three if not more federal felonies.

Don't forget that the Left is still under the impression that it owns and operates The Law, including who lives above it. What else could explain a podunk judge out in the sticks being above the law, whereas a Supreme Court justice is subject to arrest on sight?
As annoying as all of this is, it will work in our favor in midterms and in 2028. We just need good messaging again.

Amen. Stephen Miller is a fantastic spokesperson as is Tom Homan, and Scott Jennings (the token Republican on CNN on shows I've never watched), Fox Business folks such as Dagen McDowell or Brian Brenberg need to get hired by the 47th President. These conservatives absolutely do not suffer fools gladly.
I'll take any of these folks and others into an intellectual argument with your New-Scums, J.B. Pritzker, or A0C. It would be a tap-out for these weak leftist p*ssies. (And that was eloquence, of which I complimented you on a few days ago). :naughty:

Notice how the "victim" in this case is the lawbreaking judge. Nobody on the left acknowledges that the true victims are the two people hospitalized by the previously deported violent illegal who were left sitting in the courtroom as Judge Dugan helped the perp escape.
Question for lurking DUmmies: Would it be OK for the judge to do this if the perpetrator had been a US citizen? No. Then why should it be OK for an illegal?

Democrats make me think of an old episode of The Simpsons, in which Lionel Huts tells Marge "There's 'the truth' [shakes head], and 'the truth'! [nods]". That might as well be Democrats' mantra these days (in this case you could also substitute "the law" for "the truth").

Perhaps they need to present a list of who is NOT included in the "no one" part of their claim.

So how many times has this country crossed the Rubicon in the last 20 years or so on DU?

Wow, that's a good question. Back during W's time in office, things were mostly toast with legs and turning tides. I think that it was during the first Trump administration that we really started our professional full-time Rubicon crossing. It seemed like we were crossing the Rubicon multiple times per day (according to the impotent wonders at DU, at least). We must have used a good boat because, with all of that Rubicon crossing, I never once got my clothes, feathers, or fur wet.
