Pope Francis has passed at the age of 88 after several significant health issues in the past few months. He was also a vocal critic of President Trump. And he just happened to have briefly met with Vice President Vance yesterday just before giving his Easter Blessing. How long will it take before the conspiracy theories start flying that Trump/Vance assassinated the Pope? And what will become the favored conspiracy as to how Trump/Vance hastened his death? I'm going with Vance slipped Putin-supplied Polonium into the Pope's tea. But it could be something simpler like Vance intentionally infected him with COVID by not wearing a mask. And I'll give the conspiracy theorists a hint. Vance flew out of Rome this morning and is already in India. Sounds pretty suspicious to me.

Totally plausible DUmp conspiracy theory, having witnessed so many of their bat guano crazy ones over the past couple decades. :cheersmate:

How many threads does DU have denouncing Pope Francis as some variety of eeeee-vile?
Personally (outsider's opinion), I do not think Francis was a good Pope nor good for the Catholic Church. I think he moved the Catholic Church in non-Scriptural directions, hopefully not long-term. That's the worst/most I'll say, no Snoopy-dancing, no desire to desecrate his grave. I'm content that God is the One Who decides his eternal reward.

Power Line's John Hinderaker's post on Power Line blog has much of how I view Pope Francis, https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/04/pope-francis-rip.php . I also think Francis was poorly informed about Islam, historically and modern.

I learned the news opening up reddit to a joke about his death being connected to the Vance visit. The mental midgets over there seem to be covering their conspiracy theories in bad, ghoulish humor. Liberalism continues to prove itself a mental disorder.
