New York Attorney General Letitia James accused of possible mortgage fraud
Wasn't success going to be tRump's revenge?
New York Attorney General Letitia James has been referred for federal criminal prosecution for alleged mortgage fraud.
William Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), wrote a letter obtained by CBS News New York to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi alleging that James "has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms."

1. In another article I read that Bondi, et al, is claiming fraud because title to one or more mortgages

were "joint tenancy" when James wasn't living in the house.
Joint tenancy does not require an owner to live in the house.

10. Mortgage interest rates are usually higher if the owner isn't living on the property

Misrepresenting that on the loan application would be fraudulent if that is what happened

find a juicy, non-existent non-sequitur to run with, and pretend it's critical to the nation's well-being.
Subsequent herds of idiots will rally to formation to protect this absurdity from the consequence of reality, followed shortly by rafts of sea-lions going on with a variation of the classic "it makes us look bad" opening followed immediately with the "she should have known better" gambit.

I wonder how long it will be before they realize this is the same thing she went after Trump for ...

But the point here is that there's no chance that someone just stumbled upon this 25+ years later (when the mortgages have certainly been paid off and/or refinanced multiple times). Someone went digging for dirt on her specifically.

12. In Trump's case, seems like it made no difference whether or not they were paid off

It wasn't relevant to findings of fraud for misrepresentation on the loan application to obtain more favorable interest rates which was what he was found guilty of. IIRC, that the loans were paid off and the banks were not part of the suit was the basis for his defense. According to the prosecutor, that had no bearing on the specifics of their case.
No one is touching that reply.

14. Is there a statute of limitations, if true?
Uh ... does that matter?!

The allegations that she misrepresented her father as her husband in both 1983 and 2000 are likely past the SOL.
The other allegations, dated from 2023 in the case of the house in Norfolk, Virginia, and from 2021 for the building in Brooklyn would still be within the statute of limitations.
Again, does that matter?!

15. Is there a statute of limitations set for this?

Seems to be beyond a reasonable time period
They seem awfully aware of the SOL now. I won(D)er why that is??

18. Not for the ones from 2021 and 2023

The ones from 1983 and 2000 would be.
Not an expert, but I'm guessing the Statute of Limitations clock doesn't start until the loan is paid off, not when it was originated

We all knew they were going to go after her but I believe she will survive this unless the fix is in. Trump doesn't really care but it's the ALLEGATION that is the thing. Remember him trying to get the President of Ukraine to ACCUSE Biden of something, anything?
Bondi should be disbarred for several actions she has already taken or alluded to.

I'm betting the mortgage on at least 34. Maybe 35, just to show her who's in charge.

Fresh off being super DUper finance experts, the DUmbass DUchebags are now real estate loan and fraud experts. How do such 99th percentile people end up being such losers in life? Must be racism, male patriarchy, something cause it sure ain't these brainiac's fault. Nope. No siree.

Their hypocrisy is almost comical. No matter what one of their overlords have done, the standard response of the minions is usually “but that’s different” or “but that’s not the same”. I remember in the run up to the election I said something positive about Trump and one of my lunatic left “friends” chastised me for supporting a rapist. I asked him if he was talking about that case in NY where they had to change laws just to get it to trial. He said he was. Then I told him that he was supporting a rapist also. When he asked what I was talking about I told him to look up Tara Reade’s claim against SloJo. His response was “that’s different”. I just said, “yeah, it’s always different with y’all”, but for shits and giggles let’s just compare. Both happened years ago. The only evidence for both is the woman’s word. The only real difference was that one guy had a (d) behind his name while the other had a (r). I seem to despise them more each day.
Has the PCIdiot or the AirplaneProstitute piped in on this yet? They both seem to be pretend experts in most everything.

Her famous last words “no one is Above the Law” so suck it up bitch :loser:

Claiming on a mortgage application that a property in North Carolina would be her principal residence while holding offices in New York that required she be a resident in New York was fraud that got her a better interest rate than she would have gotten had she said it was an investment or vacation property.
Claiming on a mortgage application that her father was her husband was fraud that gave her an appearance of stability that could influence both acceptance of her application and possibly get her a lower interest rate.
There's nothing convoluted here, just simple straightforward fraud. State's Attorney for Baltimore Marilyn Mosby got sentenced for very similar mortgage fraud to a year of "home confinement", 100 hours of community service, and 3 years of "supervised release". Mosby might also be disbarred. She could - and should, IMO* - have gotten prison.
* IMO, lawyers and government officials should be held to higher standards, of conduct, and in sentencing for criminal acts. They know better and abused their social standing and/or authority.

How much you wanna bet she also filed federal taxes - year after year - based on these fraudulent misrepresentations?

It's questions of when and how often, not if.
As for DUmmie nonsense-howling about "revenge" and "fishing expeditions" and "digging far and deep", "She shouldn't have got caught," is a particularly unpersuasive argument to me.

This is what you get when you elect ghetto, entitled people to be your heroes.
Her and Willis in Georgia thought they were going to be superstars of the lunatic left so would be untouchable.

This woman ran and was elected on, prosectuting DJT. She was loud and proud about it and she figured out a way to make it happen.
Now this is happening to her and the DUmmies want to cry. I don't recall Trump telling us on the campaign trail that he was going after Letitia and even if he did, that's not really what I voted for him to do ... it's just a bonus of taking out the trash.

There's a video of her on X. She's spiraling out of control, going all Ghetto Jasmine, her arms and hands flailing around.
That Virginia house is a problem. To hold her job, she needs to be a NY resident.

She didn't forget about them. She thought the rest of us were just as stupid as the <70 I.Q. mouth breathers that elected her chubby ass. That we wouldn't see what she didn't want us to see, and that we'd be just as hypocritical as she is.
Apparently, she guessed wrong.

That’s exactly what she did, and if not mistaken, she had to bend the law and the statute of limitations to do what she did to Trump. She deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and be fired from her job

And she needs to feel absolute and utter terror every second of every day as they uncover all the greasy shit she's done. You think this is the ONLY fraud she's done? This could get real good, real fast.
