Spent the weekend in east Tennessee...
... started out Friday night watching Heart in concert. Great show. Spent the weekend wandering Sevierville getting increasingly disgusted. There may be more MAGAcentric places but this place holds its own. Stopped at a pancake house Sunday morning on my way out. A woman came in wearing A "Trump won" hoodie. I was seated next to the door and put my brain on autopilot. Told her she was wearing a clown suit. She didn't hear me clearly and I repeated myself and added that she was showing support for fascism and was taking a stand against the rule of law by wearing it out in public. She walked off but a short while later a couple came over and told me I had no right to treat the woman as I had. He wasn't wearing any Trump gear. I told him he was a nazi sympathizer for taking up for her while my wife told them that her wearing the hoodie was the first offense and that I was just offering a counter opinion. The couple left and the hostess came over to decry my behavior and stopped just short of kicking us out. We left right away anyway. I've been to east Tennessee many times for various reasons in the past. Not anymore. The culture is too offensive. Going to consider culture in the future before deciding to visit anywhere else in the future.

It's like a MAGAT going into a StarBucks in Union Square and attacking women and LGBT folks...

weird.

People need to control their anger.

BTW... nice bouncy

Nor will I stand on the sidelines. We were both making political commentary, hers was visual and mine was auditory. They live in an echo chamber where no alternative voices are heard. She offered no defense because she had none. Her champion could only utter power to the people. Their side is full of generalities that break down completely under scrutiny. Elie Wiesel strongly advocated for speaking out against injustice and indifference, famously stating "We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." So my question to you Wargamer is why are you standing on the sidelines? I ventured into the lions den and made it clear there was another way to think to people who aren't used to thinking.

Back in the day it was renowned as biggest and worst speed trap on the east coast. One night I got busted for 5 over the limit. That was a quick C-note gone. Luckily I was sober. On another occasion I had to go bail out fraternity brothers that weren't so lucky. It was ****ed up then and apparently still is. I'm not surprised.

and you got a peek into what it is like here. They are EVERYWHERE. They are profoundly uneducated. And have no interest in facts, despite what is right in front of them. I know that there are other Democrats here, they poke their heads up now and then, but for the most part we all stay hidden. These folks also love their guns and are probably tired of shooting at squirrels (it’s what’s for dinner). You probably would have gotten shot here.

Picking fights with strangers who are coming in to have a nice meal is pretty low-down behavior.

A "Trump won" hoodie is picking a fight with strangers. Know what MY hoodie says? Nothing.

Oh puhleeze.  Y'all go on and on about how you have bumper stickers, and turn books around, and just throw a general fit about everything and then when a young woman walks in wearing a simple hoodie, you throw a fit and somehow SHE started it?!  What the hell is wrong with you people.  For real, what is wrong with you?!

Yeah, someone in TN has to have a hoodie that proclaims Trump won. Sure: not only are the residents of EASTERN TENNESSEE totally mad that Kamala lost, but it really torches the people of EAST TENNESSEE when they're reminded of it.

All I have to say is, I would stay out of the notorious bathhouses of EAST TENNESSEE with a hoodie like that, and for the love of God, stay away from ANY of the trans nightclubs in EAST TENNESSEE with such a hoodie. They'll send you off on a stretcher.

The nerve, trying to gloat that Trump won in a place like EAST TENNESSEE.

Someone wearing a "Trump won" hoodie in a county that voted 80% for Trump is in-your-facing no one. The wearer more likely has a couple of hoodies of different weights and simply selected the one most appropriate for the weather.

I hate to break it to this guy, but what was on her hoodie wasn't an opinion.  It's fact.  I thought they were the ones saying we can't handle facts ...

There is also the possibility that this event did not occur, of course.

I can't blame the guy for trying, though. I mean, I have some experience with that myself. In early 2019 a couple of guys and I decided that we were going to go to a blue city and let them know what was up. It was late at night, and cold as all hell. but we saw this black guy walking to a sandwich joint and we said, "This is it! This is our chance! The takeover of Chicago starts NOW!" So we jumped him, put a noose around his neck, and we told him exactly what political philosophy now holds sway over Chicago.

Didn't really catch on, though. No one believes the guy.

1. In the real world, she has easy access to all manner of MSM whose multitudinous voices speak Prog PsOV on a variety of topics. She could probably explain Prog PsOV better than Ned Low could.

2. In the real world, she "offered no defense" because she knew Progs reject facts they don't want to hear or be heard as "Reich-Wing".

Wow, what a coincidence.  I was the guy with the gallon bottle of Clorox beach.  Can't believe that didn't work.  But I'm sure East Tennessee is re-evaluating their political positions after this DUmmy talked "Truth to Power".

The same people that were saying "Those knuckle dragging cretins bombing abortion clinics should be charged as terrorists"

Then they say "**** Musk, Burn TSLA to the ground."

Or "The J6'ers were traitors, hangem high!!"

Now say 'When can we take back our government... not just GOP'ers have guns"

Some folks stood up like trained circus seals and clapped their flippers *ark ark ark ark* when Law Enforcement went after political foes but now...

Now it's "****ing Nazis, Gestapo on the streets, what to do???"

Hypocrisy... sensationalism, over the top grandstanding...

I didn't know a stage of Grief was "delusion"

For the last TWO YEARS I warned DU'ers about cheering for an all powerful FED GOV'T... I warned "All fun and laughs today... but what about tomorrow?"

Tomorrow is here and BIG GOV'T still sucks.

Sir, you are too smart for DU.

That guy with one post got pepperonied.  For the most part, the DUmmies cheered him on.  They used to be concerned about making democrats "look bad."

Was DUmmie multigraincrackhead saying that billionaires such as Trump and Musk - who have degrees fom an Ivy League university - are "uneducated"? ::)

Or was DUmmie multigraincrackhead saying that East Tennesseans are "uneducated"? ::)

Possibly both, given DUmmies' unearned superiority complex?

One thing I've learned, which has enabled me to live as long as I have, is, if you wish to avoid a fight with a bear, do NOT go into the bears den and poke it with a stick.

DUmmie goes into the bears den, pokes the bear with a stick and would be the first person to blame the bear if he gets attacked.

Less metaphorically (and more mundanely), in >45 years of living in the SF Bay Area I've had the common sense not to have political bumper stickers advocating my political views.

Corrected a repetitive redundancy

I can see DUmmies running to the dictionary to learn what "metaphorically" and "mundanely" mean...

First of all, you know this didn't happen so it's either a mole trying to get in good before dropping the hammer on them OR a genuine DUmmie making up stories to get DU street cred. If it is a genuine DUmmie, I have to wonder how small it has to be to make up something so stupid.

On the very small chance that this actually did happen, keep in mind that the DUmmie isn't going to the area anymore because "the culture is too offensive" even though the only offensive asshole in the story was the DUmbass. Granted, DUmbasses are by default offensive assholes so I guess it was just being true to itself.

This is where the DUmmie loses all credibility and demonstrates zero knowledge of history.

My thoughts exactly. He's lucky some locals didn't get up from a table and give him some wall-to-wall counseling.

I'm not sure how lucky the DUmmie was. Conservatives are much more inclined to be well-behaved than are Progs.
