The United States treated alleged Nazis better during World War II than the Trump Administration treated Venezuelan migrants last week, a federal appeals judge told a Justice Department lawyer during a court hearing Monday.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit is hearing arguments over the Trump administration's use of the Alien Enemies Act last week to deport more than 200 alleged members of a Venezuelan gang to El Salvador with no due process.
"There were plane loads of people. There were no procedures in place to notify people," Judge Patricia Millett said. "Nazis got better treatment under the Alien Enemies Act."
Judge Millett noted that alleged Nazis were given hearing boards and were subject to established regulations, while the alleged members of Tren De Aragua were given no such rights.
"There's no regulations, and nothing was adopted by the agency officials that were administering this. They people weren't given notice. They weren't told where they were going. They were given those people on those planes on that Saturday and had no opportunity to file habeas or any type of action to challenge the removal under the AEA," Judge Millet said. "What's factually wrong about what I said?" ...

Emphasis added.
Think about what is going on here. The judge is being asked to determine if rules were broken. There is no rule that says you have to tell the family of a terrorist when and where you are deporting him. THIS is what the judge is upset about. This is literally legislating from the bench.

1. Being arrested, processed, and transported is the necessary "due process".
2. "Alleged Nazis"' treatment ranged from resident aliens being interned - similar to Japanese internment, but in much smaller numbers, resident alien Italians also* - to POWs being incarcerated in POW camps to the captured would-be saboteurs of "Operation Pastorius" who were tried by a military tribunal and sentenced to death (6 of the 8 were executed, the two who ratted out the 6 had their sentences commuted by FDR to 30 years and life in prison).
I'm sure the deported thugs, while in US custody, were treated much better than internees, POWs, or the failed saboteurs.
* I wonder how many DU-Denizens knew about the numerically lesser internment of resident alien Germans and Italians. Naturalized and first-generation-citizen Germans and Italians were not interned, so the Japanese were treated worse (though that may partly have been a pragmatic choice, i.e. too many naturalized and first-generation-citizen Germans and Italians to be interned).

My father fought the Germans in WW2 and those were the real Nazi's. He and his unit were captured in North Africa. If you saw the movie Patton then you kind of know what happened before he got there to make changes to how we fought the Germans. The left is lucky they haven't run into the real thing every time they call someone Nazi,

And why is it that no one is mentioning that part of the reason they ended up in El Salvador is because Venezuela has been refusing to accept their own deported citizens. I think Maduro thought he had Trump is a Catch-22 where INS had people they were ready to deport, but had nowhere to send them. Trump found another option. And all of a sudden Venezuela is much more open to repatriating their citizens.
