CNN Poll: Democratic Party's favorability drops to a record low

Quote
Quote
With many in the party saying publicly that their leaders should do more to stand up to President Donald Trump, Democrats and Democratic-aligned independents say, 57% to 42%, that Democrats should mainly work to stop the Republican agenda, rather than working with the GOP majority to get some Democratic ideas into legislation.

Democratic-aligned adults say, 52% to 48%, that the leadership of the Democratic Party is currently taking the party in the wrong direction. That’s another shift from eight years ago, when views on this metric were largely positive.

Ocasio Cortez’s stock in the party is especially high among those who describe themselves as liberal and those younger than 45, with roughly 1 in 6 within each of those groups calling her emblematic of the party’s values. No Democratic leader polled in the double digits among older adults or moderates on this metric.

They left out this part from the CNN article:

Quote
Among the American public overall, the Democratic Party’s favorability rating stands at just 29% – a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992 and a drop of 20 points since January 2021

They, of course, go into full denial mode:

2. My own personal poll is that CNN is overall a pile of steaming horseshit.

Results may vary.

12. I remember all the complaints about polls during the election

that they were rigged, oversampled Republicans, fake polls, etc... Only they turned out to be accurate. It seems to me there is a lesson in that.

Will they listen?  Hell no.

16. A lot of people on both sides of the political aisle don't like to believe polls that show their side

losing. And add to that a lot of polls have been off lately like that Des Moines Register poll showing Harris winning Iowa by double digits.

Silence the heretic with a poll that was such an outlier that it made national news and ended the career of the pollster that put it out.

In response to criticism of CNN's poll (because they lean so far to the right don't cha know) this poll from NBC (which is even worse than the CNN poll) was posted:

10. Any ideas why?

More than 47,000 posts on a political message board and she has no idea why Democrat's favorability has nose-dived?  We don't call them DUmmies for nothing.

11. The poll is horseshit.

You know good and well that if a shutdown occurred, Democrats would be blamed for it and their approval numbers would tank.

This particular poll is pure horseshit.

Umm, how much lower could their approval numbers get?  And here's another poll:

32. as did the February Harvard CAPS / Harris poll

DEMOCRATIC PARTY APPROVAL HITS A RECORD LOW AT 36%, NOW 15 POINTS LOWER THAN THE GOP

https://harvardharrispoll.com/press-release-february-2025/ (https://harvardharrispoll.com/press-release-february-2025/)

Quote
The Democratic Party received its lowest approval rating since at least March 2018, with 33% of Democrats, 86% Republicans, and 70% Independents disapproving. 49% of voters approve of the Republican Party (+1). 36% of voters approve of Congress (+5).

More denial.

31. According to whom? Compared with whom?

They have literally learned nothing over the last few years.  Lost the White House and Congress and still can't figure out that their priorities do not align with the majority of the American people.

Yes, and the originator of that poll has been sued, because the margin by which they were wrong makes people think it was no accident.

31. According to whom? Compared with whom?

Not compared with anybody. Like, do people favor the Democratic Party? Yes or no?

And now, we wait for the inevitable posts saying "It's our messaging", or "We need our own version of [right wing commentator]".

I can understand why DUmmies hate the idea that 42% of "Democrats and Democratic-aligned independents" disagree with DUmmies' desired obstructionism. From my obviously biased POV, I find it sad that only 42% of Dems get that tantrumming like that would be destructive of the US.

And, as they improve on getting their message out, those numbers will go even lower...

Poor, verklempt DUmmies.

22. nbc too???

this is teh problem with the dems. they actual democrats want the party to change course and the leadership still wants to do thing the old way. thats why schumer and all the old leadership needs to be replaced with leaders willing to fight.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/democratic-party-hits-new-polling-low-voters-want-fight-trump-harder-rcna196161

This is why we'll continue to win. They want the DNC to go further left, too stupid to realize that's why they lost. Never interrupt your enemy while he's destroying himself.

I think they tried that a few times while Rush Limbaugh was still alive and kicking their backsides back in the day.  All or most of them died after a short time on TV and Radio. CNN and some of the other Networks have fired their biggest names recently so that is something.

Err American dies a pretty swift death. Several Prog personalities went indy or podcast, but they failed or have very small audiences. Some, including Err America's Rachel MadCow, went to MSNBC, which is now shedding on-air people. I tried listening to Err America, and even putting my political views on the shelf to try to learn what they were saying, it was unlistenable. I lasted less than 30 seconds each time, maybe even combined.
