And, so it begins...
I have spent the last hour trying to post this. We have had power fluctuations since Monday. I am in Minnesota. We get power from the north. I suspect that this is the beginning of what is going to happen to us now that we have decided to burn our bridges with our Canadian neighbors.

I just heard a transformer blow somewhere near by. But, the power did not fluctuate. This is going to disrupt the entire northern part of the country. Since that orange gibbon has a vendetta against this state thanks t its governor constantly pushing against him, not to mention the fact that he also ran against the orange gibbon, which in that deranged mind is grounds for death.

We up here may not be able to post much if this is part and parcel to the growing situation. Every time the power flickers, it knocks out our internet. I have to go reset it. It has happened four times since yesterday.

Who knows, maybe this will get some attention and maybe we can get some action over this. But, I doubt it, as long as those in power have what they want, who cares about the rest? I doubt we will be having any more elections anyway. Something will happen and they will demand martial law and they will suspend elections in the name of 'security' until we no longer have them at all.

Go ahead, call me an alarmist. All I have to say is this. I have no issue with admitting that I was wrong in this cases. I hope I am wrong. I will be glad when I am, to be honest.

What will you do when I am proved right?

IRL, if MN had built nuclear or gas or clean-coal generation plants instead of bird-chopper and bird-fryer farms, its power grid would be just fine. When pole or substation transformers blow, it's almost certainly due to some mix of age, overload, and lack of maintenance, not a man who has been in office for a bit over 2 months. But I'm sure DU-Denizens lapped up this mini-apocalyptic silliness.

Well, a couple of DU-Folk pointed out other possible, more likely, entirely local causes:

It’s blowing like crazy in the Red River Valley.

Though I don’t doubt for a second that this will be our future.

of power outages in the area. We get about 1/5 of our power from Canada, so there could be some problems in the future if this tariff nonsense continues.

So, does this DUmmy think PM Trudeau is sitting in a power plant somewhere in Canada randomly flipping breakers on and off?  And occasionally pushing a big red button that blows up a transformer somewhere in America?  Is he unaware of the fact that the weather in Minnesota has been stormy with high winds the last few days?  Has he never been advised that high winds cause limbs to fall on power lines which causes power issues?  But probably the biggest question is, can he differentiate between a conspiracy theory and Occam's Razor?

Depending on the depth of dishonesty in his Cassandra act, he may be relying on DU-folk living in other states not knowing this (e.g., SF Bay Area TV and radio stations don't broadcast MN weather very often) and fellow Minnesotans not blowing the cover off his dishonesty (a couple did, but with, "You might be right in the long run," padding).

Since Trekker OldBaldy1701E included a fantasy that Trump is targeting MN because Goobernor Walz ran for VP against Trump/Vance could we talk about LIEden's very real attacks on the economies of several "Blue states", such as Texas, Florida, and South Dakota? Can we talk about LIEden's very real withholding and blocking hurricane aid to "Red" parts of North Carolina by FEMA?

You posted what I was thinking.  When Texas had power disruptions in the winter of '21, it was the fault of the idiots in Texas ...

In the real world Texas had issues because we were forced to use wind and solar which couldn't handle the load (this is from what I understood of the situation.)

Where is the MN contingency plan?  Why didn't they have one?  What did they know and when did they know it??

Given a couple things missing from OldBaldy1701E's post - dogs that didn't bark - I'm not sure he experienced power disruption instead of Internet service disruption. He mentioned neither flickering house lights nor having rebooted his computer.

One minor problem: you approve of that when it comes to ukraine.

1. DUmp predictions of "marshal law" are a tradition worthy of :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: and mockery.

2. Unlike the US, Ukraine's constitution forbids holding elections during this time of war. E.G. https://www.journalofdemocracy.org/online-exclusive/ukraine-cant-hold-elections-during-the-war-does-it-matter/ .

I wish that Ford's threat was true. He is really going to screw the republican states of Michigan, New York, and Minnesota.... and they so deserve it.

Guessing the problems caused by "this tariff nonsense" is a reference to higher prices. If you could erase the money wasted on inefficient solar and wind farms from your monthly bill you'd come out ahead paying the tariff. When the final deal is in place, the tariffs will decrease or disappear. But your wind and solar fees (guilt tax) are forever.
