Republicans change their stances within a matter of minutes.
After showering President Zelenskyy with praise and calling him a hero one minute, the next minute they are saying he disgraced the Oval Office and should apologize to Donald Trump?
They are disturbed. They are beyond help. They are slowly marching into the bunker with Trump, They have made the decision to stay with Donald Trump until the bitter end. And it is going to be bitter.
In their hearts, they probably know that, but peer pressure from the Party is more than they dare to challenge.
They now know that embracing Donald Trump is also embracing Vladimir Putin, the ruthless dictator that imvades his neighbors and kidnaps their children and kills their citizens. That is the choice they have made.
They cannot turn back. They are too far gone.

Of course, this DUmbass account of events is presented without any additional context, no mention of what happened that would have caused republicans to become critical of Zelensky. Ukraine's ambassador was n the room, and she face-palmed big time. That is not to say that Trump and Vance couldn't have handled themselves any better, but there is a reason for the supposed about-face by republicans.

DUmmies think that saying Putin is evil and yelling at him over TV from a White House podium will change Putin's mind.
(Because it worked so well for Biden.)

Brandon wasn't intimidating anyone yelling at the sky and wandering off into the bushes or being escorted around by the hand with actual world leaders.

Maybe he was extra intimidating because everyone figured he was 1 missed bran muffin away from starting a nuclear war.

And America's wise man echoed exactly my thinking:
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: 10 bad takeaways from the Zelenskyy blow-up
Ukrainian leader boxed himself - and his country - in with petulant White House display
In interest of brevity, I'll pick out several of the best points Dr. VDH made here. The rest are at the link thing.
1. Zelenskyy does not grasp—or deliberately ignores—the bitter truth: Those with whom he feels most affinity (Western globalists, the American Left, the Europeans) have little power in 2025 to help him. And those whom he obviously does not like or seeks to embarrass (as with his Scranton, Penn. campaign-like visit in September 2024) alone have the power to save him. For his own sake, I hope he is not being "briefed" by the Obama-Clinton-Biden gang to confront Trump, given their interests are not really Ukraine’s as they feign.
2. Zelenskyy acts as if his agenda and ours are identical. So, he keeps insisting that he is fighting for us despite our two-ocean-distance that he mocks. We do have many shared interests with Ukraine, but not all by any means: Trump wants to "reset" with Russia and triangulate it against China. He seeks to avoid a 1962 DEFCON 2-like crisis over a proxy showdown in proximity to a nuclear rival. And he sincerely wants to end the deadlocked Stalingrad slaughterhouse for everyone’s sake.
9. If one views carefully all the 50-minute tape, most of it was going quite well—until Zelenskyy started correcting Vance firstly, and Trump secondly. By Ukraine-splaining to his hosts, and by his gestures, tone, and interruptions, he made it clear that he assumed that Trump was just more of the same compliant, clueless moneybags Biden waxen effigy. And that was naïve for such a supposedly worldly leader.
10. March 2025 is not March 2022, after the heroic saving of Kyiv—but three years and 1.5 million dead and wounded later. Zelenskyy is no longer the international heartthrob with the glamorous entourage. He has postponed elections, outlawed opposition media and parties, suspended habeas corpus and walked out of negotiations when he had an even hand in spring 2022 and apparently even now when he does not in spring 2025.
Quo vadis, Volodymyr?

The American Left has an excellent opportunity to take the penises out of their asses and do something: go enlist to fight Russians in Ukraine, and/or send all of their extra money directly to the Ukraine treasury. That is the last I want to hear about the GD MFing Ukraine.

This morning I read an article from the NY Post. Now, I trust the Post more than NYT, CBS, etc, but not very much more so take it for what it's worth. The article claimed that Zelenskyy met with dems before meeting with Trump/Vance, and the dems told him not to sign the agreement.
I've come to the conclusion that dems don't just hate America. They hate everyone.

Democrats Encouraged Zelensky to Scoff at a Possible Peace Deal, Setting Up Oval Office Blowout
Democrat Senator Chris Murphy (CT) and presumably others encouraged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reject the prospect of a peace deal without so-called "security guarantees" (a euphemism for American military commitments) just before the now-infamous Oval Office blow-out.
As RedState reported, a 40-minute presser between Zelensky and President Donald Trump turned sour after the former, who had been antagonistic and dismissive of U.S. concerns throughout the meeting, interjected to interrogate JD Vance for the cameras. The vice president had mentioned working toward diplomacy, which didn't sit well with the Ukrainian president, and in a move that struck the administration as disrespectful, Zelensky publicly denounced any possibility of a ceasefire that would pause the war with Russia. A later tweetstorm from the Ukrainian president only appeared to fray relations further.
One of the big questions was how we even arrived at that point. What caused Zelensky to walk into the White House with the sense that he could bully Trump in front of the press and scoff at any diplomatic negotiations? A post made by Murphy gives the game away.
Chris Murphy 🟧
@ChrisMurphyCT
Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine.
Less than an hour before entering the Oval Office, Zelensky met with several lawmakers, including Murphy and other Democrats. Based on the wording of the above post, the senator (or someone else at the table) pressed the Ukrainian president to reject a "fake peace agreement," which is a clear shot at Trump's attempts at diplomacy. At the very least, these Democrats encouraged Zelensky to remain defiant in that position, and we all know what happened next.
Attending that meeting and glad-handing with left-wing partisans who do not want peace because it would make them look bad was a colossal mistake by Zelensky. He needed to go into the Oval Office with a reconciliatory attitude. No one was asking him to sign a peace deal with Russia on the spot. All Trump wants to do is hold talks. Ukrainian leaders would still hold the right to reject ceasefire terms if they saw fit.
That's what makes this entire thing so mind-numbing. There was no reason for Zelensky to do what he did. Trump was ready to give the bag away on a very Ukraine-friendly mineral rights deal. To blow that up served no purpose whatsoever. Details of any possible ceasefire could be hashed out much later and not in a way meant to embarrass the president and vice president.
Zelensky needs to understand that these Democrats have no power. The Biden administration is gone, and Republicans control both the Senate and the House. Chris Murphy isn't going to be writing Ukraine a check. All he and his cohorts can do is virtue-signal, and that's not winning any battles against Russia. If things are going to be patched up with the Trump White House, Zelensky has to accept that reality and stop believing that he can bully his way to American military commitments by appealing to the press and Democrats.

I like him I listen to him on YouTube. He’s really an intelligent guy.
If what I’m reading here is That’s ZaLensky tried to do a runaround with the Democrats before meeting with President Trump. That’s even more infuriating. All I can say is piss on him. I have no sympathy for the guy and for the Democrats that tried to spoil the deal, they should be held accountable for that, all they’re doing is causing more death. They’ll do anything to undermine Trump. It’s really disgusting.

Does this count as changing stances?

I agree. I remember watching a speech he gave in Congress about the war. It was a trip that was to spell out how they needed an increase from the US to further hold off the Russians. There was no gratitude for what the US had already done. Only that it wasn't enough. His projected an entitlement attitude. I thought it was a piss-poor way to ask for additional help. Of course, Biden and co. lavished US tax money and/or printed up some fresh.
So what are Murphy and swamp pals intentions? It is not trying to do what is right for Ukraine or the US. They don't give a happy damn about the deaths and destruction. Lives lost and ruined is a small price to pay if it undermines Trump. They must be proud.

If it wouldn't make thing worse I say let them stew in their own juices over there in Ukraine.

And let Zalenski figure out that the democrats can't give him more money and in reality they could care less about him and his country. They are only trying to make Trump look bad. :thatsright:
