Dems thought they were really clever referring to Republicans as weird. What's weird is interjecting politics into literary every event.

Hospital just called
My 95 year old mom has been having some health issues lately. Hospital called just as I
was leaving for my daily visit and said I better get up there, she might not last the night.
Was healthy & active 3 weeks ago. All Democratic thoughts, prayers, vibes needed.
She goes by Betty

First, I find it odd that, faced with traumatic news, KS Tornado's first instinct is to rush to DU to announce it, rather than getting her ass out the door to see her mother before she passes. But what in the hell are "Democratic thoughts, prayers, vibes"? Are they different than positive thoughts from other political parties? Or do we vote and decide whether or not to send positive thoughts? Seems rather complicated. It must be exhausting to spend every moment thinking about politics. Some of them don't make a single decision without trying to somehow twist their decision into some political statement. I think that is what drives their paranoia and contributes to their various mental problems. Some of them are so afraid of accidentally committing some act of "political incorrectness" that the simplest decisions tie them up in knots.

And burn sage while doing a binding spell to keep Bogey-Trump and Muskzilla away!
Aside, is KS Toronado's DU name a reference to Dorothy's least favorite Kansas weather phenomenon or to an Oldsmobile model?

Always painful to let a parent go, but 95 isn't a bad run.
My stepfather passed at age 60. Mom's still with us and in overall good health.

I don't know about "vibes", but I assume the thoughts would be "hate! gimme! frogmarch!" and similar. I guess "demonratic prayers" would be something along the lines of... "All powerful government and overlords, I give my full allegiance to you and you alone. Please fill my empty mind with what you would have me to mindlessly do. Except please don't let it be work. I ask you in your all powerfullness to give me more stuff as I hate whosoever you instruct me to hate. In the name of all that is unholy, amen a-non-gendered-person."

Reminds me of the late Keifer (SP) who dropped dead at the keyboard, monitor covered in spittle and surrounded by bottles of urine and old pizza boxes. His mother pushed the body out of the way to inform DU.

let me guess, if she doesn't last the night, or for that matter whenever she goes its Trump's fault....

Of course, because, 3 weeks ago, she was fine..

That's disturbing on so many levels. Sadly believable, but disturbing nevertheless.

The car, Pete. KS isn't anywhere near as cool as his mom was:

I get that cult vibe too, and they ALL look alike to me. He looks like kentuck who looks like Atticus who looks like PCIntern who looks like old baindamaged and on and on. Anyways, here's Johnny:

From his mother's obit:
Her hobbies were participating in a Gospel singing group that sang at local rest homes, delivering the Holy Sacrament to shut-ins at home, eating and visiting with other seniors at the Hays Senior Center, and tending to her garden, raising blackberries and flowers on the farm. She also loved and took care of many cats through the years.
Sounds like quite a wonderful lady, "ordinary" in a good sense.
