Bernie Sanders on what we should steal from Denmark
... "In Denmark, everyone is guaranteed health care, college education is free, parents receive 1-year of paid paternity leave & workers don’t make less than $22 an hour," Sanders said. "Let's steal those ideas" ...

2. We should adopt their progressive levels of taxation too
So everyone pays their fair share
The average Dane making $47,000 a year is taxed at 45%, rising to 52% for those making over $67,000 a year. Most Danes feel that is worth it considering what it pays for

7. As always, Bernie is being logical and intelligent.
As always, his ideas won't be implemented.
America isn't a first world country. Forget that idea.

These idiots don't have the money to be taxed that high.

Bernie is a US senator. All he needs to do a sponsor a bill for this, get it passed in both houses and then have Trump sign it into law.

Is the cost of living so low over there that you could hold a home in the car and survive I’m 55% of $47,000 which is just a little bit over 25,000. I don’t think housing is very cheap over there.
Plus, if you’re not sick and you don’t have kids and you didn’t go to college paying for all that for somebody else, I don’t think it’s too popular to Bernie needs to move there and I can see these dummy screaming when they got their first paycheck when it’s half what they thought it would be.
I wonder if any other kind of like sales tax, tax car, registration tax, etc. etc. :thatsright:

2. They've avoided many immigration issues that many other European countries are experiencing...
Danes are very protective of their culture. As a result, their immigration policies are some of the most restrictive in Europe.
If you move to Denmark, assimilation is expected. There are requirements to learn Danish, to find a job and to have housing. There are policies to prevent “parallel societies” whereby groups of like immigrants are discouraged and frustrated in forming enclaves and “neighborhoods”. Basically, if you move Denmark, they expect you become a Dane.
An honest DU-post.
Healthcare and college are not free, they are just shell-gamed into high taxes, https://taxsummaries.pwc.com/denmark/individual/taxes-on-personal-income . That webpage does not include the Value Added Tax, which is on the order of 3X even CA's high sales tax. The tax shell-gaming means healthy people still pay, through their taxes, for healthcare they are not using. The tax shell-gaming means people who go into vocations still pay for college education.
The grass ain't greener, and as Mark.b2 pointed out, Denmark is rather strict about qualifications.
We have cities in the US with larger populations than Denmark.
We have cities in the US with larger GDPs than Denmark.
We have city blocks that are more socially, ethnically, and culturally diverse than Denmark.
These pitifully false equivalencies make me want to hurl.
The fact that so many idiots keep falling for and parroting them does make me hurl.

Bernie Sanders really is bereft of any new ideas, isn't he? All he does is retread things that have addressed time and time again.
Take this, for instance:
https://roslynlayton.com/10-things-bernie-sanders-and-paul-krugman-should-know-about-denmark/
The above is originally from Forbes. Unfortunately, the original page doesn't work, and this one is truncated. But it still gives a good breakdown of why Sanders' thinking is flawed. In short, the Danish style of healthcare wouldn't translate well here, everyone pays higher taxes (not just millionaires and billionaires), and no intellectually honest person would call the services they have 'free'.

Attracting Danish Medical Tourists: Proven Strategies
https://www.magazine.medicaltourism.com/article/attracting-danish-medical-tourists-proven-strategies (https://www.magazine.medicaltourism.com/article/attracting-danish-medical-tourists-proven-strategies)
Understanding the Danish Market: High Standards of Healthcare
Denmark has a robust public healthcare system that provides accessible and high-quality care to its citizens. However, certain factors such as long waiting times for certain procedures have led Danish patients to explore options outside their country.
Emphasis on Specialized Treatments
Danish medical tourists often seek specialized treatments and procedures that may not be readily available or have long waiting times in their home country. This presents a significant market opportunity for healthcare providers offering cutting-edge treatments and expertise.
Somebody :-) in the previous Denmark is Paradise thread asked if medical tourism from Denmark is a thing (I've an occasional firm grasp on the grossly obvious). It is, and due to a predictable consequence of government-run healthcare, wait times. Whatever the mix of limited personnel and limited equipment, diagnostic and treatments delays translate to unnecessary pain, disease progression, and sometimes even unnecessary death.

Denmark population 6 million, give or take.
Denmark GDP 407 billion, give or take.
US population 350 million, give or take
US GDP 27 trillion, give or take.
Apples and oranges, before touching on differences in economic systems, governmental systems, and cultures.

My informed and educated guess is Bernie the Commie would steal a few lakeside houses.... and a few onesies.

:rotf: Glad you mentioned onesies. My first thought at the DUmmie claiming that Bernie is always logical and intelligent was him yelling at RFK asking if he supported these onesies. Like most Dems, Bernie is efficient at being a hypocritical clown.

Early his brain dead time for him to move back to Moscow. He loves communism and socialism. He can get a good dose of it over there. Is the poster child for term limits
