I probably should post this in Mental Health Support. the whole board should post there
I am wondering how to arrange my life so that I can cope with the reality of what is happening while still finding a way to experience happiness.. Today, I made the mistake of watching the news and reading DU when I should have been watching episodes of Outlander on Starz. what a dork
First of all, I take back giving Musk the benefit of the doubt because of his being on the autism spectrum. I was mistaken in thinking that although he is a terrible person that he didn't possess impulse control or self-discipline. I allowed myself to be influenced by knowing people on the spectrum, all of whom, btw, are very nice people.. Anyway, I am now convinced Musk hates democracy, is an authoritarian, and means every thing he says and does. I find his proximity to power and the functioning of our government terrifying.
I never fail to be amused by the DUmmies and their strident belief that anyone gives a sack of monkey nuts what they think
This past week is unlike anything the American people have ever experienced. Never has there been a president who came into power with the traitorous intent of undermining our democracy. There have been presidents with visions that millions of Americans were against, but never has there been a president that is the enemy of democracy and all that is good. (Even Nixon didn't come close to this menace. He actually believed the air should be clean and that the country needed a national health care system.) and of course, by "democracy" you mean "anything you like."
What we have experienced and witnessed this week cannot be sustained. There is no way that people can live, let alone thrive, while living in chaos and lurching from one manufactured crises to the next.
Something has got to give.
Maybe you're right, DUmmy, something DOES have to give. Here's an idea... (https://democraticunderground.com/100219958235)

The only "crisis" they're living through is in their mind. The vast majority of Americans are absolutely loving most of what is going on. Trump is doing what we elected him to do. Now we have to get rid of some of the RINOs who are trying to stand in the way.

Trump's shock-and-awe is having the intended effects.

Yeah, we're so used to ineffectual leaders that don't follow through on promises that seeing Trump, who does do what he promised, comes as a bit of a shock.

Try copious quantities of drugs and alcohol, if that fails try suicide. :loser:

Yeah, like reinstating the press credentials of 400 White house corespondents who had them removed because of "misinformation." Is that your brand of democracy?

OP, live life like normal people do and quit worrying about who's in charge. Very little of what is going on will affect you personally.

Nearly none, in fact, any since we learned that (a) inflation is not a big deal, and (b) the POTUS does not control gas prices, as well as (c) they claim they never go out in public much anyway, they shouldn't even notice who the POTUS is.
