My trumper sister has it all figured out. She says if Dems don't stop them from touching SS or Medicare/medicaid
It will be the Dems fault. Even though republicans have the presidency house senate and Supreme Court. The Democrats can always filibuster. And if they don’t stop it they are at fault.
Her brain is addled. But this is what we are dealing with.
I wanted to punch her.

...because the electorate just stripped it from us) and work our asses off to turn down the voltage on the outlets that same electorate just voted to STICK THEIR FINGERS IN.
The filibuster? Hahaha. That's the first thing that will go, as long as it makes it easier for Speaker House Elf to obey his masters command.
I'm in the 'not this time' camp. They voted for leopards; lets let the vicious ****ers off their chain, and when they start screaming for help, our response needs to be 'well, vote for us so we CAN do something about it...otherwise, enjoy being lunch.'

84. No. You don't DESERVE to lose your SS and Medicare.
But, there are not enough Democratic Senators to stop it from happening, even with a filibuster. Because, the filibuster is going “bye-bye” as soon as any Democrat uses it.
This is what the majority of people who actually voted decided they want. According to our system….this is what they (and us) will get.

The dems have been using the SS scare tactic since at least the mid-80s. Probably longer. Since the GOP has had control several times since then and SS is still around, I have to wonder if DU and the dems are (a) stupid (b) dishonest (c) both stupid and dishonest (d) essentially brainless automatons that just do what their overlords tell them.

The SS scare tactic stuff is totally detached from reality. At his rallies when he talked about no tax on tips he often mentioned getting rid of income tax on SS as well.
