Just heard on Joy Reid
California contributes 83 billion more dollars to the federal govt. than they receive. In fact, Los Angeles County alone contributes more to the federal govt. than all but 4 other states combined.
Yet the welfare (red) states who take more than they contribute are trying to put conditions on aid to their benefactor, California! It's insane!
Good for Joy. Now the Dems need to start screaming about this.

Democrats are doing everything possible to avoid talking about how they could have prepared better for this disaster. They're cycling through a bunch of talking points and irrelevant rebuttals, complaining about insurance companies, red states, and so on.

In various significant ways, EVERY level of government F'ed up: the Feds; the State of California; LA County; the City of LA.
As for insurance, the State of California decided to F over insurance companies, who turned around and did what the moronicrats did not anticipate. They shrugged. Months ago, they stopped writing new policies and cancelled many existing policies in many parts of the state, because the risks far outweighed revenue from which claims would have been paid.
Swimming in the famous Egyptian River will guarantee more disasters of this magnitude.
