Can we at least not cheer for concentration camps to "teach minorities a lesson"
In regards to those who didn't vote the way we liked?
Like, do people really not hear and see themselves right now? Not only have I seen that statement, there are people reccing the stuff.
I cannot believe the shit I am reading.
It feels like there's a divide here between "liberal out of principle" and "liberal out of tribalism" that's making itself known in rather ugly fashion.

In one of BFDU's threads, we saw a DUmmie actually wishing for concentration camps for Latinos to teach them a lesson. Nobody called the asshole out, either. Just astonishing.

so openly stated.
I can't say I am very surprised however.
You're not surprised? I sure would be surprised if i ran into something like that on my forum.

And it's not something I'm fond of.
If that's scolding or tut-tutting, so be it. We're in a serious inflection point in history, and serious matters require serious adults.
This trend that people my age (and older) should just shout into the void like adolescents when their will has been thwarted is not my favorite social development over the past twenty or so years.
It gets normalized. It gets cheered. It gets reinforced. And when called out, it gets that Oprahesque, "Everyone's feelings are valid as they are living their truth in the spirit of their being . . ."
No. Stop that stuff. Pretend we're grown ups with executive function for a change. It's more productive. And if we can't draw the line at "Actively wishing for death to make your online political point" then maybe our culture has tipped too far.
If I had a political slogan, it'd be Make Behaving Like Normal People Trendy Again

Years ago, I advanced a theory that the influx of Central Americans would not be the boon that Democrats thought it would be, that if even a slice of those coming over wanted a better life for their families, their culture would forbid going moonbat. I think that's starting to happen now, but sooner than I imagined. On the other hand, the Left's insistence on their "Latinx" bullshit was also more intense than I imagined. So no wonder liberals now want to put them in cages for not accepting government cheese.

1. Yeah, well, Progs have this need to believe they are smarter than "minorities", know better than these "minorities" what is in their "best interest" better than people who are living their own lives.
2. What you are reading is the same "shit" DU-Denizens have been posting since January 2001. It's just taken you almost 24 years to notice it.
3. While tribalism is ugly, DU's Prog-Tribalism is a DU-tradition that started in and has been continual since January 2001.

I wonder how many Post-Reports Sympthsical has garnered from posting so self-reflectively. I've never posted this before, but two full kudos to Sympthsical.
Speaking of non-crazy DU-members, shouldn't Earl be begging brooklynite to return?

Yes he should. He was banned for warning them what was coming. He could have taken the edge off.

Well we know that lots of them are elitist racists, and look down on anyone who thinks differently. Specially people of color who they still think they own. :thatsright:
