Sorry for the tasteless headline. The use of "their" as a first person singular drives me up a wall:

So.... my daughter got some terrible news, and it has her angry and terrified.
She learned last Friday that a close college friend, with whom she was very close with when they attended the same school, died suddently and unexpectedly late election night. Her friend was non-binary and strong LGBTQ activist. Their fiance was working that night and she came home to find them drowned in a bathtub.... and it appears they drank a lot and perhaps took some pills while in the bathtub. It is not clear if their death was deliberate, or not. But my daughter is convinced that they were despondant about the election and and if they didn't deliberately kill themselves, did so accidentally while trying to kill the pain.
She went to their funeral last night and she careens between being devasted and burning with a white hot anger.
I'm not sure what to tell her. What a terrible thing for her to go through.

Was she having an affair or did her fiancé catch them and do them in?
I’m not really sure what none binary is, if you’re not a 0 or 1 are you hexadecimal?

you know, I've been thinking about this since Wed morning on and off.
Do you think that the propaganda outlets and the DNC have stepped back and looked at what they have done to the simple-minded among us?
I mean, even if this DUmmie is lying in this particular case, there most certainly are cases of people cracking up over this. Hell, there was one entire family (including children) snuffed by a murder/suicide a couple of days ago, and supposedly the triggering event was the Trump election victory. People have plotted and even tried to assassinate Donald Trump because of this s***.
do they realize what they have done? better question is do they even care? they have devolved into a machine that cares more about gaining power than they do about human lives. they have no issue sacrificing other people, it is very apparent.
we laugh and mock the stupid, but there is a dark underpinning in this story that really makes me angry, even though it is only affecting left-wing nuts. there are a rare few people on this planet that i would actually enjoy watching suffer, and thats still too many. these "nuts", or at least a lot of them, actually believe this torrent of bulls***. they believe it so strongly that they think the world is coming to an end in many respects. and while i giggle when i see the likes of PCIngrate smashing out angry rants at 3:00AM, this has actually caused a lot of serious anguish for some inexperienced, and some outright dumb people. is it their fault that they were brainwashed into this left-wing crap by brainwashed left-wing parents, teachers, and peers?
maybe i just think too much sometimes. i don't want to have mercy for people who call me racist/Nazi/fascist/*ophobic, etc. but i do, God demands that of me even if their anguish is founded in hatred.

It's quite simple. You're either binary or you're not.

FZ, I have to admit not being able to put my cynicism on the shelf before answering. I do not think the more extreme and noisy among the MSM or or Dems will admit the damage they have done to society by demonizing decent people for having different socio-political views.
I want to be wrong, because I think the path to improving our society has to go through noisy extremists admitting what they did and that it is wrong. Those are probably akin to two of the earliest steps in a 12-Step Program, and I think the hatred, mental laziness, and adrenaline rush of demonizing people may be a sort of addiction.
