http://www.wcti12.com/News12.asp#458747244
That story is from before 6am this morning.
James City NC...........as of 1pm $4.99............
Limits of $40 or 10 gallons and such............... :bird: Nancy Pissholy
-
Western NC ................ I paid $3.59 for 89 octane this morning.
I don't think Gov. Easley likes you for some reason. Yeah, he's a jerk, but what did you do to hurt his widdle feelings?
.
-
Local disruption from Gulf hurricanes? I gassed up here in central MO for $3.45 a gallon today.
-
$3.39 at the Conoco down the street here for 87 octane with no ethanol.
-
That's odd it's that high because traditionally Charleston, SC has some of the lowest gas prices in the country, and by virtue of that so does Wilmington, NC. New Bern (James City), NC is just up the road a ways from there.
.

We have a Pilot station a 1/2 mile from our subdivision entrance.
Yesterday afternoon, I was on fumes and filled up for $3.63.
Told Michael he should go "top" his off last night after I heard the south part of the county was running out of gas.
He was such a guy ::)
He went up this morning about 8 and it was $3.69 but all 5 double pumps had lines so he came back home. He went up at 10....and it was $3.99! :o
should have listened to the redhead....
-
$3.43 at the Sunoco in Seabrook.
-
CH, somebody's doing some price gouging. Gas here in North Central Texas was $3.449 last night. I live in a resort area (Lake Texoma) so gas goes up pretty quick and always right before the weekend.

No kidding.
It was $3.67 this morning at around 530am...................was $4.49 at 1030am
I mean NC does have some high taxes on gas but damn..........just damn.
The rumor is they shut the pipeline going to Selma NC down today. We have in this area one man that owns a lot of the stores and he is always the first and fastest to go up.
The dumbasses around here are not helping the matters as everyone is going to top off there tanks and there is about an hour wait at some stations. I did see one station at $3.79 about three miles from one at $4.99 :banghead:
yep................no price gouging :whatever:
-
I'm in SC about 35 miles south of Charlotte NC. The news media(all TV stations) there did a story there late yesterday about "Gas shortages" due to hurricane. Last night they had lines here at gas stations until closing time or the station was out of gas. ...and now there is, at least in this area, a gas shortage. Why? Because everyone ran out at once and emptied all the storage tanks......at once.
Now you can call me racist and save some reading but I'm going to say it anyway. All the Indian owned stations, and that's not American Indians I'm talking about, jacked their prices up right away and the local owned (white/black station owners) are still around $3.65 for reg. .....if they have any. ....but there seems to be plenty of the high octane everywhere........ :-)
-
After I read the story on WRAL I ran out this a.m. around 0830 and filled up for $3.69. My daughter called from Raleigh later in the day and said lines were forming at the stations around state campus and police were having to direct traffic. Supposedly Easley implemented a price gouging measure that resulted in...price gouging!
"The price of a gallon of regular gas shot from $3.79 to $4.39 overnight at a Texaco station on Arendell Avenue in Zebulon. The station manager didn't provide a reason for the sudden increase, except to note that he would have to pay $5.32 a gallon for his next shipment"

It's keeps falling in price here in central MA ($3.49), which makes my husband cranky because he was after me for 6 months to get rid of my Suburban, and trade it in for some ridiculous 4 cylinder PC piece of nonsense.
I live in New England. It has been known to snow here. You kind of need the 6, and 8 cyinder vehicles.
-
Fox News just said 11 states are starting gas rationing....but they didn't say which states.
-
Well.....other than some sort of streaking prankster in Valentine.....nothing's happening here in Nebraska.
Gasoline prices the same as they've been the past few days; circa $3.59.

I didn't need a tank that got 15 mpg and was only a 2WD. Traded in the Ford Valdez for a Jeep in April.
Smartest move I've made in a while. Driving 40-45 miles each way to work adds up fast. I figure I'm saving at least $150/month in gas. That and it handles like a dream. I can't wait for winter to see how it handles the snow on I-95 and the Spaulding....

I don't have the full roof, just the sunroof, but still nice.

yep, that's where the platforms and refineries are. People lined for blocks here in Fla. Gas at 4.00 per gallon, just sent husband to top off my tank. After Katrina it was 2 or 3 weeks before they could ship any gas in here. It comes by barge.

Nice vehicle Sparky!

they are rationing gas here now. $20.00 minimum. I mean maximum!

Where are you located? I am in South Florida, topped off my gas tank last night....but have been at work all day so have no idea what's going on outside.

The Panhandle.

It was up to $3.69 a gallon today, jumped a dime from yesterday and 20 cents a gallon more 2 days ago. For over a week it's been $3.39.
You should have seen the line at Sam's. You would have thought they were giving it away. It turned out they were the same price as the local station. Some discounter. :whatever:
-
Nice vehicle Sparky!
Thanks--same color, even. Real easy to keep looking nice.
On another note, gas prices overnight just jumped 10-15 cents.
-
driving home last night from topping off at $3.62, less than a mile down the road was an exxon charging $4.99... yeah, no gouging there
-
The local news is reporting that several stations around town are out of gas.
When we came home last night around 11:30....the Pilot up at the corner was still open and showing $4.49, the Weigel's (local quick shop) was open too, but they had taken their numbers off their sign, the Texaco was closed (we never go there - it's owned by mid-easterners), but it looked like their sign said $4.59.
U TN is playing UAB this afternoon at 12:30 and the local news was reporting last night and this morning that people who had traveled in from out of town were worried about getting gas to get back home. The stadium holds 107,000 fans.
------------
The other half just came back from the grocery, Pilot is @ $4.99. He stopped in for cigs and the girl said they had to break up a couple of fistfights in the parking lot.... :mental:....this is not an area where fistfights are common. :o
-
Friday morning gas was $3.699/gallon. Friday after work it was $3.999/gallon IF you could find it and didn't mind waiting 30-45 mins in line. Today it's $4.099 or more. Meanwhile crude oil prices continue to drop.
Remember Bella Pelosi's claim for the first 100 days of the Dim run congress? One of their main objectives was to get gas prices under control. :censored: Bella and her dim ASSociates.
:banghead:
-
I work with a guy who traded his Grand Cherokee for a Patriot, off a lease. He gets 10 mpg more with the Patriot than the GC.
Gas prices near me are still around $3.75 or so.
-
When to Sam's tonight.....when I passed the Pilot up the hill...it was $4.99 and the gas truck was pulling out of the parking lot.
Get to Sam's....on this side of town, about 15 minutes away....and their gas was $3.84!!!!! I thought maybe they just hadn't corrected their price signs. However, I was meeting a friend there, and she was getting gas and told me that's what it was.
When I came home, the Pilot still had gas at $4.99, but the Weigel's and Texaco had all their pumps covered.
-
Yesterday it was $3.44 a Gallon. Today it was $3.59/Gal
-
Thursday it was 3.69 here, then Friday night (when I filled up) it was 3.89. Now, just after work this afternoon... it spiked to 4.39 a gallon. Maybe at gas stations that aren't Shell and BP, it's 4.29, but still...I tell ya, it's nuts.
-
It was 3.36 on Monday. I filled up for $4.01 and it was a bargain. I've been seeing $4.50, $4.60, and up across town. I saw a station selling Regular for $4.50 and their diesel was still selling for $4.01.
-
Now they are saying that the refinieries will be down a week :banghead:
-
As I have said before, post Katrina it was about a month before we here in the panhandle of Fla. got a barge full of gasoline. Earlier this year we invested in a scooter. looks like it may come in handy.
-
It's $3.49 here in Kansas City, which is up from $3.35 on Friday, but I'm not certain how much of our supply comes from the gulf refineries..........

Now they are saying that the refinieries will be down a week :banghead:
They can't start them up until the electricity is restored, then they can call in the workers and it takes a couple of days to get the refinery up and running.

You can bet the farm that there will be crews working on the lines to them 24/7. (Might even be some special VRWC Electrical Techs, too.)

From a lineman standpoint, that would probably be first priority, followed by other commercial, then residential.
However, the utility can only do so much, depending on where the line is drawn for utility versus customer responsibility. For example, when I was a relay tech with SCE (So Cal Edison), substations would supply the refineries (like Chevmain, Mobil, etc), but once that juice left our breakers, it was THEIR responsibility--IOW, if their system is down, it's up to them to fix it.

I realize that. I hope they hurry yet do it safely
-
I saw a caravan of about 10 trucks heading down south from PA yesterday...I'm sure there are tons of others on the way to help out, too.
-
I have seen a bunch of utility trucks heading to TX on Interstate 10. The out of state utility company from AL did a bang up job to restore the power in my neighborhood in Baton Rouge.
Gas prices have not gone up but a few cents here. Baton Rouge has the 3rd largest refinery in the country.
-
Local news reported that Flying J and Pilot have had complaints filed against them for price gouging.
Should be interesting...this is Pilot's home....one of the founder's sons is the Mayor. On the other hand.....they give millions back to the community and the University.
-
NC is going to be issuing subpoena's today are tomorrow for people they have received complaints on.
-
Friday afternoon regular was $3.59, this morning $3.99.
-
$4.19 here in Detroit. Grandparents told me it was $3.55 the day before I got here (3 days ago).
Was watching Fox News while taking a lunch break from hunting today. They pointed out that even though Oil dropped to $94 a barrel, prices where sky rocketting everywhere, solely because of the lack of refineries.
So what does that mean? Build more ****ing refineries. Doesn't take a PhD in rocket science to figure that shit out. :whatever:

NJ................ Friday... $3.27 .................. Saturday.......$3.47 ............ Sunday..... $3.40 ...... Today..... $3.35................. who knows what tomorrow will bring?
I frequent a fishing site in in NC where there are those who blame President Bush, and when I posted what I pay in NJ one imbecile said that it was because we have refineries here and that they didn't down there. But that makes absolutely no sense at all seeing that there are states with refineries that the price is higher than NC's!
It's all about greedy quick buck artists in the area.
Sure! We could debate this all we want about why the price of gas is higher in one state than it is in another ............. gas tax...... suppliers cost... and so on, but if it costs $3.27 in NJ, and $3.37 in NC on Wednesday night, and on Saturday it costs $3.47 in NJ and $3.99 in NC then the guys in NC are screwing their own people royally!

we all pay a federal gas tax, but don't the states have a gas tax too? and the amount differs state to state. I don't even know what Fla.'s is.

I'm not sure the specific taxes, but last Thursday two vertical marketing reps from the manufacturer of the equipment I sell were in from Chicago for a lunch meeting with me. They were saying at the time that gas in the Chicago area was about $4.50 a gallon (before the Ike inspired gas hikes). That day the gas was about $3.40 a gallon in Missouri. Folks at my office who live in Illinois and work in Missouri always get their gas on the Missouri side.
Those state taxes really make a difference. The one woman said that she was buying cigarettes to take back to Illinois. She said in Cook County, Ill the price for a carton of cigarettes was over $80, due to local taxes. I don't smoke, but thought she said a carton was about $37 here.

If anybody suspects price gouging, it can be reported to both your respective State Atty General or here:

Pilot's moved theirs back down to $4.49.
We made the national news for the highest gas hike in the country.... :thatsright:
-
It's $3.65/Gal today, up from the latest low of $3.44 a week ot two ago.
-
I just paid $4.09/gallon diesel. That's 10 cents cheaper than two weeks ago when I last filled up.
-

Alot (Thor) of subpeonas were handed out today by the NC AG. Though noone will be probably be charged

Here in Western NC the stations ran out of gas on Friday around 4pm. Just started getting new supplies of gas yesterday around noon, but at least half the stations around town are still without any gas at all. 87 octane is selling for around $4.15/gal.
.
-
Prices here in western Missouri have been dropping steadily the past two days from a high of $3.57, my local Casey's is down to $3.49 this morning....
doc
-
I got gas today at a Chevron station and the price was $3.83 for prem. We have plenty of gas in Baton Rouge which has the 3rd largest refinery in the country.
-
Our gas comes from the Colonial Refinery which was damaged.
Pilot is still at $3.39....I think after all the complaints, they are afraid to raise it.
-
$3.999 to $4.199 here IF one can find it. :censored:
-
Down to $3.16/gal here in KC today....at this rate it might drop below $3 by the week-end.....yea....
