Interesting, because I'll wager Harris couldn't find Bangladesh with Google maps, much less has any clue about what's going on over there.

Bangladesh used to be part of the Nation of Pakistan. When the Brits divvied up their colony, they tried to create a more or less Muslim state (Pakistan) and a Hindu state (India). So modern Bangladesh is majority Muslim, and Hindus and Christians living there are persecuted. Bangladesh came to be due to ethnic tensions between the ethnic groups of Pakistan (plurality Punjabi) and Bengalis.

AFAIK, religious minorities are ill-treated in all three countries, not just Bangladesh.

Bangladesh formed because of the Bhola Cyclone in 1970.

The final straw? Bhola cyclone, 1970 election, disaster politics, and the making of Bangladesh

Did Kammie, who is 1/2 Indian and raised with Hinduism, ever condemn the Bangladeshi persecution of Hindus? Or was she trying to pander to Muslim voters by keeping silent? Did she actually not even know?
