OMIGOD! They took my sign with the Airtag and it ended up exactly where I thought it
would end up! In the well-to-do community next door!
What is the procedure for recovery? Do I call the police?
Update it: They disabled the device, but I took a screen shot before they did. I have a picture of the house.
As a courtesy to my friends here, I'm going to link to a site where you can get information on eye surgery. With all the posts like this on DU lately, someone is going to roll their eyes too much. (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100219630419)

Not only was the sign stolen, but they put an expensive AirTag on it and tracked to...you guessed it...a "well-to-do" adjacent neighborhood. Suuuuuuuuuuuuure.
Everyone is telling this asshole to file a police report. Any guesses as to why they won't? Police reports are generally reserved for things that actually occur.

If this fable were true, which it isn't, my bet would be that the "well to do" community stealer was a cheap ass rich democrat that thought they could get a free virtue signalling sign.

Or a disguise for when the rioting starts since they seem to riot these days whether they win or lose.

Here's a real campaign sign vandalism news story, https://www.bostonherald.com/2024/10/31/massachusetts-man-arrested-for-allegedly-painting-swastika-on-trump-campaign-sign/ . Any MA-resident DU-Denizen complaining of a close encounter of the po-po kind? :-)

Just like when the hometown sportsball team wins the championship. Or loses the championship. Or draws the ire of the sportsball officialdom. Or it's Black Friday...
