Was former pres. Obama speaking to black men or to ALL men?
I’ve seen several clips and maybe I missed it, but I didn’t think he limited his remarks. Given that white men without college degrees as a group are the demographic most likely to support Trump (and we all know that there are many who do not), and they are a large group, it seems to me his comments should be heard by them.

If we stop making excuses and looking the other way when they show us who they are by how they vote and interact with others maybe we can save our democracy. Many republican women are very well off and they despise poorer white women many of whom don’t vote. Just look at Florida and Texas.

All of the left seems to agree that if your skin is white, you have white privilege. Even though I'm a fictional spirit-guide who is part Irish Setter and part pigeon, most of the left would consider me white UNLESS they were needing fictional spirit-guiding; however, any white privilege that I have must be faulty because it has never benefited me. Regardless of the issues with my own privilege, if this mythical and legendary 'white privilege' is so great, why do almost every single bi-racial person (even those who would pass as white with no trouble) self-identify as black. If white privilege really existed and was really so great, wouldn't it be common sense for them to self-identify as white? Are they all stupid? Perhaps they find it more beneficial to identify the way they identify because, although white privilege doesn't exist, another privilege does exists, and they want to take advantage of it.

Today, my white privilege was in my mixed race neighborhood with many other neighbors who were of various races and financial status helping clean up the aftermath of Milton. Some of us who were a little older can’t do as much as we could 30 years ago, but I’m not sure if there’s a privilege attached to that.

I was privileged to pay my way through trade school so I could get a good job and work all my life to pay off the student loans for a bunch of other people.

Sometime around 2000, I had debated buying a small business. I met with someone from, I guess, the Small Business Administration, about getting a small business loan. The representative told me that since I was white male (aka not a minority) that I would have better luck getting a loan if I were to attempt it under my wife's name. In my mind, that would have been a bit dishonest so I said "no" and never did get a loan. If I would have known then what I know now, I would have demanded my privilege be honored.

How many other half pigeon, half Irish setter fictional spirit guides does this SBA rep meet in a week???

Now, that is a good question! If she did meet with any others, I feel sorry for them. She was exactly what you'd expect someone with ties to the government to be: pompous, completely useless, and a waste of time that could be better spent elsewhere.

Obama was speaking to his brothers, that group doesn’t include us honkeys. Kind of racist of him. As for those of us who don’t have college degrees are the backbone of the American economy. There’s lots of you out there with degrees making coffee, driving Uber and delivering lunch. Lots of good your degree is specially when those of us who don’t have one have to pay for yours. :thatsright: :loser:

I got my degree at the College of Fort Benning Georgia. And the advanced degree of the extra 23 years of working in my field of learning to kill people and blow things up in the Infantry. I should not only have my white privilege but way more than a master's by now. Sadly, that's not so much on the white privilege.
