CBS has a Helene Special
Strongest and biggest hurricane to hit this part of Florida since 1851
700 miles wide.
This is the big one. All the Waffle Houses are closed.

Um, no. Not by a long shot. Hurricane Michael was a Cat 5 and was a damn monster with 175 mph winds and 212 mph gusts. It was JUST 6 years ago, ya drunk bitch.

mal (and a few other DU-folk) HATE Florida so much they dream of a hurricane scouring Florida into the Atlantic Ocean (kind of like some conservatives hope will happen to California).
While FL probably has substantial weather records going back two centuries or so, has the capability to categorize hurricanes been around as long as a century? Whether 1 or 2 centuries, "Strongest and biggest hurricane" has to be followed by a very large *.
Pretty much every part of the world has some sort of natural suck - earthquakes, hurricanes/typhoons, tornadoes, desert, monsoons, blizzards, volcanoes. So humans just pick their poison and adapt. What goes beyond natural suckage is when humans create their own special hell-holes. mal should turn her energy to un-hell-holing her home country, Jamaica (and for a challenge, un-hell-holing Haiti).

Funny how it specifies "this part" of Florida. Never mind that Florida has been hit by hurricanes like Andrew in the past. No, just "this part", as if hurricanes that hit right there have never happened before ever and it's evidence of GLOBAL WARMING AAAAAAAAAA PANIC!

Not to mention the most catastrophic hurricane to hit the U.S. In 1900, Galveston, TX. Surely that must have been climate change or glow-bull warming too. Don't forget the dust bowls, massive heat waves which mostly happened before the industrial revolution completely took hold.

Every post Mal makes is a great example of why you shouldn't drink and post.

seriously, the stupid is SO thick with that one that I sometimes wonder if she isn't really just the most successful troll in history.

I honestly don't understand how she and several of the other pro-Hamas posters over there have not gotten banned. Just the other day she was calling for Israel to be charged with war crimes for killing Hezbollah terrorists. But she and the others are allowed to spew their hate. I guess because they are attacking the Joooooooss it's OK.

She needs to get swept away by a hurricane. When they hit Jamaica it’s like flushing the toilet it gives the slums a cleaning :thatsright:

She must've been (be) apoplectic with Israel's decapitation of Hezbollah's upper echelon leadership (and with several thousand pagers and walkie-talkie, much of the Hezzies' mid-range leadership went boom, too) and giving the Houthis an energy crisis.

Someone who lives on an island that has the potential to be a tropical paradise but is wracked by poverty, crime and a shaky government that can’t control its people has no business sticking their nose into another country’s affairs. :thatsright: :bird: :bird: :mental: :mental: :loser: :loser: :loser: :loser:   (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/iwCbuabchS4/hqdefault.jpg)

Verbal and keyboard potshots at a country one hates is easy. Improving one's own systemic hell-hole-country is hard, is work. Work is not something mal is inclined to do, especially since her economic ideology has failed, horribly, in so many other countries. If it failed in Jamaica too, well, mal won't be honest enough to admit failure and rethink her ideology-religion.

That is probably a good guess. It seems that even with a lot of Jews voting for Democrats the party itself is as racist as the Nazis.

And I can’t understand why the Jews keep voting for them. :thatsright: :mental:

We've had bigger in my part of Georgia, but this one was worse for us. Thankfully, my power was only out for about a day, but there were places around here who still hadn't gotten power as of yesterday.

In the 90's, southwest GA was already saturated when a smaller hurricane came through the big bend. Albany got so much rain from it that caskets were popping up out of the ground.

I remember that one. I visited a cemetery once in southeast Georgia that I'm surprised hasn't had that problem. It was in Appling County or Coffee County or one of those counties in that area. After being there for a few minutes, I noticed that several of the trees in the cemetery were cypress trees. Since they're usually in swamp areas, I started paying closer attention and realized the cemetery was like a fairly well manicured bowl. I did find an drainage grate at one low point so I guess they're draining the water in underground lines to somewhere.

The only special ma lazy genuinely cares about, is the special at the local bottle shop.

Dem Goobernor Cooper and the Feds seem more interested in suppressing relief efforts they do not control than actually getting relief to people in danger and need. Apparently, Lt. Governor Robinson is working with the private efforts that are actually out there helping people.
Of Cooper and Robinson, guess which is a Dem, and which is an R.
