Title: primitives being speechists

This is of some interest to me, because I've never really heard human voices, and because for whatever reasons my own voice seems to jar Democrats, liberals, and primitives; jars them to where many of them get all upset, turning red-white-and-blue in the face, jumping up-and-down in vexation, coming close to an apoplexic fit.

Who finds Palin's accent to be absolutely nauseating?

I sure do.

It's so bad that I'd rather listen to hours of Bush's fake Texan accent than listen to her for two minutes.

Now, where's the primitive respect for diversity here?  Shouldn't all of these variations in accents be something of interest and fascination to the primitives, rather than source of fear and loathing?

And where's the primitive tolerance here?  Surely the primitives realize that for many, they have no control over how their voice sounds, and so need "accommodated," rather than criticized and condemned?

I dunno.  If I were a hearing person, I suspect I would find accents fascinating and intriguing, not repulsive.

But of course, I'm not a primitive.

3. The arrogant tone is what gets me

Just like Bush** and Darth and the rest of them: condescending, smug arrogance. That it's completely unfounded adds another level of the stupid "smiley" factor to it.

I wish I had a quarter for everytime she said his name in that too sugary sweet voice.

She makes me sick.

7. Shall I compare her to a rusty hinge?

She sounds like she needs some oil. There's also a little Peter "Time to Change" Brady in there for extra added annoyance.

10. I agree - it's not the accent, but that nasally vocal tone of hers.

11. Yes, it seems to accentuate the worst parts of the accent.

I feel bad for the people with her accent because now, she is THE example of it.

BTW, what IS that accent? I've heard people say it's a Canadian accent or an Alaska accent but I've heard different Alaskans speak before and they don't speak quite that way...

16. Her voice makes my ears bleed.

I can deal with the accent, but her screechy nasal voice is awful. She sounds like what would happen if a pterodactyl was cast in "Fargo."

9. Close to one of the pukiest drones I've ever heard.

She should be put on the straight talk bus and left there on the bridge to nowhere with loud music to drown out the drone.

How's that big story coming along?

12. Our neighbors used to have a cockatoo

That's what her voice is like: It's like the bastard offspring of Frances McDormand, Rosanne Barr, and a parrot.

"Charlie? Charlie? Charlie? SCREECH! Charlie?"

More from the schoolyard.  :whatever:

This lady deserves our respect for many reasons but the fact that she has pushed the primitives to a point of infantile rage and hoplessness is worth it alone.

Yeah, if the sound of Sarah Palin's voice is the biggest thing that drives the primitives nuts, it's a sure sign that's about the worst thing one can say about her.

On the other hand, I imagine the sound of Vast Teddy's voice drives decent and civilized people nuts, but because it's a pretty minor fault in comparison with some other faults of Vast Teddy's, decent and civilized people don't bother mentioning it.

Frank, her voice has a mild Midwestern nasal twang, and there's a hint of Northern Tier accent in the inflection, which if anything enhances her appeal as a relatable, real person rather than a plastic media creation.  The DUmmies hate it because of the old sunlight/vampires thing.

I think her accent is delightful. Reminds me of the sheriff/heroine in "Fargo". DUmmies prefer an accent like the Sham-wow guy.

She speaks in a relatively high, feminine pitch. DUmmy womyn have deeper voices. And facial hair.

Just like all democrats, DU is focusing on Palin and not McCain.  They sure can screw themselves of almost certain victory.  It happens time and time again.

Agreed -- I find it quite charming and very middle-America.

Yeah, the Fargo thing occurred to me after I posted that, but I guess it wouldn't make any sense to Frank either.  I would not say her voice is high-pitched at all for a woman, more like "Juuuuust right."   :-)

Think of it this way, frank...if Obama's voice is akin to arugula salad and brie on toast then Sarah Palin's voice would be homemade strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream.
