FBI investigated alleged Apalachee HS shooter Colt Gray, 14, in 2023 over school shooting threats

Colt Gray, the teen suspected of gunning down four people at a Georgia high school Wednesday, has been on the FBI’s radar since last year — when he was investigated by local authorities in connection to online school shooting threats, the bureau revealed.
In May 2023, the FBI received several anonymous tips about threats to carry out violence at an unidentified school, with the harrowing posts including photos of guns, according to a Wednesday night statement from the bureau’s Atlanta field office.
The Jackson County Sheriffs’ Office identified Gray, then 13, as a possible suspect and interviewed him and his father.
Gray’s dad told investigators at the time that he had hunting guns in the house — but his son didn’t have unsupervised access to them, according to the statement
Colt Gray made threats in 2023. The FBI investigated and no charges were filed.

The interesting thing is that when the news first broke of the shooting I was reading the comments about it somewhere (can't remember if it was on the Fox or NY Post websites or on Facebook), and someone took heat and was made fun of for wondering how long the FBI had known about the guy and still essentially let it happen. I wish I could refind that discussion to see if they're apologizing to the guy since this came out.

I posted this yesterday on another discussion forum:
What are the odds:
Long "disciplinary" record;
Alienated angry "outsider";
Known wolf (record of making threats);
Obtained the weapon illegally (as well as bringing it into a "Gun Free Zone").
So far:
* I've seen a comment from a fellow student that she was not surprised that the guy did the shooting and that he was a loner.
* The guy is 14 and cannot legally purchase a firearm. Of course, his parents may have bought it for him.
* If the FBI investigated him, he was a known wolf, IMO. That he has a significant disciplinary record is inferable from the FBI having been called in on him.
My post yesterday was not at all brilliant, just pattern-matching from past shootings.

How does the murderer's skin color matter? Would the 4 dead people be any less or more dead if the guy's skin color were brown, black, or chartreuse?

Skin color effects the reporting. He would still be "unnamed" if he had been black. "He's a minor".
And try's to answers the question if this was faked.

This wasn't a case where Colin Gray simply purchased the gun as a gift for his son. He gave it to him seven months after law enforcement visited their home to question Colt about threats to shoot up a school. Colin assured investigators that Colt never had "unsupervised access" to the weapon, a claim that obviously was not true. (Or at least not all of the time.) This should have been a major red flag.
Then there is the mother, Marcee Gray, 43. She reportedly has a lengthy rap sheet including charges of "drug and domestic violence arrests." Neighbors reported that she regularly locked the children outside of the house at night, leaving them there screaming to be let in for hours. Child Protective Services had visited the home many times since the family moved there in 2022.
No summary of the shooter's family would be complete without checking in on the rest of Colt Gray's relatives. One woman claiming to be Colt's aunt quickly rushed to his defense on Facebook, warning people that there would be trouble if anyone spoke ill of her nephew. She suggested that she would be going "full throttle" on anyone accusing him of any wrongdoing.
The family sounds like there are Reddit/GoogTube Entitled ______ threads/videos about their craziness.
