WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI has failed to report all suspected child sexual abuse cases to appropriate law enforcement agencies despite changes prompted by its handling of the case against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, according to a Justice Department watchdog report released Thursday.

In a review of more than 300 cases in 2021 and 2023, the inspector general found no evidence that the FBI complied with mandatory reporting requirements to local law enforcement about 50 percent of the time. When the FBI did make a report, it did so within the 24-hour period, as is required by Justice Department policy, in only 43 percent of the cases.

The FBI is too busy going after conservatives. They had every opportunity to stop Larry Nassar.

The fbi needs to be “reimagined “

A good flush from the top down.

Most of the department managers need to be brought into the President's office down to the National Archive and asked to point to the clause of Article I, Section 8 that authorizes the existence of their bureau. If they can do so honestly, their agency gets to continue existing; failure to do so gets them terminated on the spot - you choose the most appropriate use of the term "terminated" in each instance.

Cause too many of their bosses are involved seems a likely reason.  Just like Epstein's flight logs and the Panama Papers, there's too many "important" people that would be damaged if due process and justice were meted out.
