I have decided to take a long break from most all American politics before the election.
I also, quite frankly, need a break from this board.
Only time will tell if that becomes permanent.
It all is doing my head in, and I find myself far too often filled with hate and dread.
I will not allow that to continue to fester.
I am going to move other facets of my life to places of far more centrality.
This has been building up for ages, and I am sure this all comes as little shock to many here.
A deep thank you to all the wonderful people I have met here over the past 6 plus years.
Many of you have enriched my life.

All the hate anger and ill will towards anyone who has a different opinion than the rest of you is frankly quite disgusting, disgraceful and shameful. It’s amazing that there’s so many vile and hateful people in this forum.
You all need to look in a mirror and be ashamed of yourselves.

Not really. Most of the DUmp Monkies don't have and could never develop this level of self awareness.

Odds are, someone with some sense that this DUmmy couldnt easily dismiss pointed out how hatefull it had become.

The weird thing about Celerity is that she claims she is a US citizen, but supposedly has only spent a few years actually living in this country. She claims she was born in England, spent a few years living here and now lives in Sweden. She also is supposedly a black, lesbian in her 20's so a lot of her posts are identity politics based. I think her big problem is that she is very anti-Jew, Pro-Hamas and she doesn't like that she's actually getting some pushback on that position. But, like with Malaise, I always find it curious when someone who doesn't even live here, or isn't even an American citizen, spends so much time on a board devoted to US politics. Wouldn't their time be better spent trying to improve their own countries?

Bashing others is easier that improving oneself (and one's own country). Improving oneself and one's own country is work.

I wonder how many of today's DUmmies know why DU even exists. How many know that it came into existence out of hatred for W after he won the 2000 election?
