The "Democrat Party" slur
I guess msm has just given up pushing back on this slur whatsoever.
I’m just venting, it does get to me when they get away with renaming our party and slurring it intentionally and never get checked on it.
I know there’s so many other things, but I’ll never not correct someone in person that calls us the democrat party. We’re the Democratic Party. Thank you very much - you’re a clown and I have no respect for you
This topic always cracks me up, because I never realized how bothered they were when someone referred to the "Democrat Party". Until I started reading DU, I never even noticed when "Democrat" vice "Democratic" was used. I probably did so myself and thought nothing of it. But now knowing how incensed it makes them I have to chuckle ever time the topic comes up.

1. You're not the only one
It makes me crazy and has since they started saying it.

2. I can't wait for someone to say that
In conversation with me haha. Deserved or not they are gonna get this smoke haha
Ohhh...a tough guy. I'm scared.

Well, that is certainly a clever retort.

15. It drives me crazy when it happens here on DU. Arrgghhh ...
Calling us the Democrat Party is not only an insult, it meant to be insulting.
A few years ago, Lawrence O'Donnell said Democrat Party while doing his show. I sent him a Tweet that night explaining the insult.
The next evening during his show, and with the biggest smile on his face, Lawrence said the Democratic Party. I Tweeted him back with a nice Thank You!
Anyway, Social Dem, thank you for posting.
Wait, one of their favorites said it? Is it possible that it's completely innocuous and no normal person actually cares? Or did Lawrence O'Donnell need to be educated, and, fortunately, some random DUmmy was there to fill him in?

21. Yes, it bothers me as well. It's the DEMOCRATIC Party. I've heard Democrats refer to it as Democrat Party
and I have read it done right here at DU where the posters should know better.
Maybe nobody cares.

34. Ignorance like that just lets me know who the better man is.
Other folks have thoughts, I can disagree and be civil, but if you vehemently unrelentingly get in my face about it, NO ONE HAS EVER DONE THAT TO ME, so laughing is highly likely.
Ohhh...another tough guy. And it appears that anyone trying to tweak you by using the word "Democrat" isn't doing so ignorantly, they just know what a snowflake you are.

The whole thread is a complete whine-fest. But none of them seem to recognize their hypocrisy in assigning derogatory names to the Republican Party and every right leaning individual. Their nicknames get so silly and obscure that even the other DUer's don't know who's being referred to sometimes. A few times a year a thread will pop up looking for a glossary and cross-reference list of all the different names they call various people. It appears their current strategy is to refer to Republicans as "weird". Not sure what they think that will accomplish, other than showing that they are non-serious people that have to fall back on childish taunts to try to impress themselves.

They are always complaining about something the site should be renamed democrat complaining forum :thatsright:
-
I refer to them as demoRats right to their faces with a giant smile, haven't had one of the chickshits say a word to me. :lmao:

Hypersensitive whiners and their pet chimeras.
For me, "Democrat Party" saves 2 keystrokes. That's it, not a slur, just slight laziness.
Now, DUmmies' "Rethuglican", that's a slur. Impotent like such things are, but a slur.

They've been raging against this for as long as I've known them. They get SO worked up and waste all kinds of energy on pointless threads like this. On the other hand,

I feel absolutely no rage, and am fine with this. We are a Republic, after all. Just don't call me late for dinner.

What bothers them so much, makes them pissy and triggers them, is that it is an example of your language failing to be controlled to their liking.
-
Yes because that little island of misfit children has never said anything like that about any party let alone the Republican party. How about you assclowns over there at DU do us a favor and actually shut up.

They're just Dim'Rats to me; well except for the DU denizens, anyway. Those are DUmp'Rats

Perhaps that's why I always enjoyed the late great George Carlin, despite his mostly liberal leanings. But he despised the language control and for decades crafted routines deconstructing language. They're readily available to find if one is so inclined. Here's just one:

this is one of those DUmmie quirks that confuse me to no end.
how is that considered a "slur" in the first place? is it as simple as people who get offended if you mispronounce their unusual name or something? doesn't make any sense to me

My family name is Germanic. My family, going back to my Grandmother, pronounced the last letter, "z" as "zzz"; I'm 99% sure that were I to go to the pertinent area of SW Germany it would be pronounced "tz" (not unlike Tim Walz). To the point, we have a few family friends who know our family pronunciation but still do "tz". That puzzles us, but we don't see it as a "slur" or offensive.
"Democrat" is the correct noun for a member of the party, and common shorthand for the name of the party (probably even with some within the party).

Well, based on their seemingly unfounded outrage, I demand that they start calling the GOP the "Rebublicanatic Party".
Stupidness aside, and after thinking on this for a bit, it appears to me that their demand must revolve around their insistence that their party name is a verb. As in, it is not what they are, but instead, how they do things. Which I also find odd because very little about those freaks and their behavioral habits could be defined in any way as democratic. I mean, FFS, their chosen nominee that they voted for was stripped and replaced by party leaders, effectively nullifying every one of their votes.
Like everything else in liberal land, the effort they put into their brand seems to revolve around building facades rather than producing real and positive results. It's all about the image, not performance or measurable success.
Shorthand: they are full of sh**

Not a slur at all. To call the party of criminals run by criminals, pedophiles, and degenerates "democratic" is a lie. There is nothing democratic about the democrat party.... just look how the disenfranchised 14 million democrat voters by throwing Pedo Joe out of running for a imbecilic cackling whore.

But she's changed. Now she's an imbecilic and joyful.

I haven't read this entire thing through so someone may have already mentioned this. If so, I apologize.
Libertarians are members of the Libertarian Party.
Republicans are members of the Republican Party.
It stands to reason that Democrats would be members of the Democrat Party.
Or since they want it to be the Democratic party, will they be okay with being called Democratics? I mean, yeah, we know that they are NOT democratic, but they're backwards on a lot of things. It really sounds like they need to be in therapy with their spirit-guides more often.

it's the same with everything they do. when they having a stupid or losing idea (which is almost all of their ideas), they just play the word game. they are the most petty among the petty. it's all high school antics and popularity contests among them, and when they suck, they just insist on changing the dictionary. go try to call someone '"normal" over there. they are mental. look how much time they spend coming up with DUmbass names for people who disagree with them. the drunken commie dominican is a prime example... just plain stupid
-
It occurred to me that by calling us the "Republic Party", they make us sound like the good guys from Star Wars. Hmmm... ::)
See, dems? I can play silly word games too.
