I’m on my phone and can’t bring this over but trust me, there is some SERIOUS stupidity in this thread.
Dutch, care to join us in here?
Wow.

Kat says we went to school with this guy. I don't remember him.
But, it looks like he was slotted as Bn CSM and was going to the MG SMA online[?] when the unit recieved orders to Iraq in late 2005...
He'd have been there when I was there, btw,... but took retirement instead of deploying.
Since he never completed the SMA he was reduced in rank to MSG after retirement.
At least that's the current info from the Stolen Valor folks.

Go look over there where a few are claiming he was an officer. :lmao:
They’re having a hard time figuring out the difference between an officer and a non commissioned officer. :rotf:

Holy hell what is wrong with those people?
I believe if we want the truth of his service and rank brought to the voters we need to tell the E-4 mafia (if they actually existed) that they will get a 96 hour liberty starting on a Tuesday once the truth is out on all news platforms.
I believe they would accomplish this in under 8hours, if they existed.

Well ... they're all idiots, so...

Not on the tards Military record but one of the guys on a gun forum I'm on posted this. :lmao:
Republicans Resurface Tim Walz’ 1995 Mugshot as Attacks Heat Up (https://www.thedailybeast.com/tim-walz-old-mugshot-circulates-after-harris-picks-him-for-vp-ticket)
Tim Walz’ mugshot from a 1995 DUI arrest went viral Tuesday just as Kamala Harris announced the Minnesota governor was joining her presidential ticket.
That booking photo shows Walz facing forward while wearing glasses, a hunter’s cap, and a black sweatshirt. He’s not smiling while holding up a placard.

His rank is of little concern to me. He took the pay and benefits of NG but then bailed when his unit was deployed to Iraq.

That in my mind negates him as a veteran. When you join it’s for better or for worse. You don’t have a choice.

President Trump and Vance has taken more actual enemy fire than Walz.

Makes you wonder just what kind of a "Leader' he was to even get to MSG let alone to CSM. I hope some of the lower enlisted who served under him speak up.

Thanks to all of you folks who have served in the military and explaining (and not just in this thread alone) all the little intricacies and nomenclature of the how the U.S. military works. Military service and speak is similar to a foreign language to me, and I appreciate reading those who have pointed out many of the easily provable lies of stolen valor which apparently happen all too often.
Found a wonderful article at RedState from a War on Terror veteran, and also learned a hell of a lot. Enjoy:
JD Vance Rightly Calls Tim Walz Out for Being a Sheep and a Coward
Wednesday morning, Senator JD Vance was giving public remarks on the campaign trail when he mentioned his opponent Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and his "controversial" military service record. Vance then laid into Walz, essentially calling him a coward, and rightly so, when he mentioned Walz's decision to abandon his troops right before they deployed to Iraq in 2004.
To be perfectly clear, I 100 percent agree with Vance in his remarks, though because I am not running for Vice President of the United States, I would be much more colorful in my language describing Walz and his shameful behavior. Walz is absolutely a coward and a liar, and he uses and embellishes his service record for political gain.
RedState helped break the story regarding Walz's military service when several of his former peers in the Minnesota National Guard called him out for cowardice and lying. The biggest complaints are how Walz continues to lie by omission when he says he was the most senior enlisted soldier when he was in Congress as a Command Sergeant Major — he was reduced in rank to Master Sergeant — and that he knowingly abandoned his unit before they deployed to Iraq in 2004.
In an undated video posted to X, Walz is seen and heard ranting about gun control. Being a Democrat, that itself is not shocking or unusual. However, where he slipped up was when he called for banning so-called assault weapons. Walz said he wanted to ensure that "weapons of war like I carried when I went to war" stay on the battlefield. Again, the problem is he has no idea what a battlefield looks like and never carried a weapon in war, because he never went to war.

Info from https://hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2024/08/07/while-his-unit-deployed-to-iraq-a-chicken-hawk-walz-ed-away-to-safety-n3792796 :
1. Walz retired in 2005 just before his unit was deployed to Iraq, creating a gap in the leadership at a critical time.
2. Contrary to Walz's explanation, he could have gotten an accommodation making his retirement unnecessary.
3. Contrary to Walz's claim, he had been provisionally promoted to Command Sergeant Major, but had not completed the process of qualifying for the rank. When he retired his rank was reduced to Master Sergeant.
4. Walz also misleads-by-omission regarding his deployment to Operation Enduring Freedom. Yes he was deployed for that operation, but his unit's duties were air base security ... in Italy.
Do Stolen Valor folks have a special word for people who exaggerate their service?

So he spends time at Aviano AFB with his unit and because of his rank he doesn't even stand a post or carry a weapon on duty. Yeah that sounds like he was in the fight alright. I spent a year and a half ona missile site in Italy and as part of my duty of guarding those missiles I had to wear a vest and carry 210 rounds of ammo and a helmet. I could claim more "Combat " time then he could because we had threats from the Red Brigade and others calling into our unit from time to time and jsut dealing with the nukes on base was stressful enough.

The whole thing reminds me of a close relative of mine's military service. He graduated High School, was screwing up his life and was guided into joining the Army by his parents hoping it would straighten him out. He joined, ended up in a motor pool MOS, spent a year in Germany and when his commitment ended was given a General Discharge. The Army didn't even discuss the option of him re-upping. He eventually got his shit straight, raised a family and is currently a small business owner. So, no criticism of that. He wasn't impressive in the military, but he finally grew up. But he likes to bring up his military service like it awards him some special status. He's a Dem (but not nuts), however if you criticize Biden, or discuss contentious topics like abortion or transgenders he's quick to say something like "I didn't serve to hear people disrespect the CINC", or "I put the uniform on to protect the rights of all Americans". Which is all complete BS. He joined the Army to stay out of trouble. I have to wonder if Walz's rose to the level he did by simple attrition. He doesn't seem to have a lot of support from those who actually served with him. Like my relative, if he didn't try to overstate his military accomplishments, most would say that his service was a positive thing. But, once that service is thrown in your face and at least partial fabricated, their entire record becomes suspect.

I think there is a revealing and interesting comparison between Iowa U.S. Senator Joni Ernst and MN Goobernor Walz. While he did serve in the Minnesota National Guard with his misleading rank, etc., he is beloved by the Democrat party. And why? Because he's a woketard.
Senator Ernst was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Iowa National Guard who did serve as a company commander during Operation Enduring Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq. But the lefties despise her because she isn't a liberal.

Prog Dems don't like Tulsi Gabbard, either, though she was a Congressional Dem. Gabbard enlist in HNG in 2003 at enlisted rank and did a year-long tour in Iraq, 2004-2005. Back in the States, she did OCS, was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Kuwait in 2008 and 2009. She is still serving in the National Guard, with a rank of Lt. Colonel.
She left the Dems' pineapple plantation in 2022, though whether she is in some "official" way an R, I don't know. LIEden's minions won't confirm it, but some secretive DHS special agency has apparently been tailing her movements for several weeks, apparently in retaliation for daring to criticize Kammie (the surveillance supposedly began ~2 days after that criticism).

Thr Hawaii National Guard was Zone 6 @ Camp Arifjan. They were a subordinate command. Tbh i loved visiting them... there were some lookers and they always fed me, esp Spam Musabi. Chances are that I interacted with her. (I worked for General Frink at Coalition Land Forces Command). Small World.

I think he’s got more skeletons in his closet than a graveyard. Last night on Watters world he exposed a scam the somalis pulled off for $250 million. That walz could have stopped but didn’t.

It's more complicated than a single charity doing $250M in fraud, and whether it is relevant to Walz I've not seen. At least one of the charities is on trial, so their fraud is not ongoing. https://conservativecave.com/cave/index.php?topic=134707.msg1547623#msg1547623

Has anyone calculated how many days that Walz was actually "active" in the Guard? There is probably a more accurate term than "active" but I don't know what it is.

I worked with Joni Ernst when we had flooding here in my county back in 2011. I found her to be everything you see on TV and what she says. A stand-up person and as smart as they come. Something that Walz doesn't seem to be given what is known about his service.

The thing is that in the National Guard there are Full Time members and then there are those like me that were there mostly for the weekend drills unless your unit gets activated and then you are all on active-duty status. I am not sure where a MSG or a CSM would fall under the full-time status or just show up for the weekend, but I think it would have to do with them either being in an administrative slot or a slot where they are leading troops which is what Walz signed up for. I am pissed off that Walz gets to the rank of CSM and walks away and it leaves a black eye on my old Division which I and my father bother served in.

I thought I read in a thread here that it’s 2 days a month and 2 weeks a year. That would be roughly 31 weeks. I spent more time than that submerged.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking, but he was at Aviano (I believe it was) for awhile. That would add to his total, but I don't know how much. Airwolf mentioned that there was a possibility that he could have spent some time full time at home.
I know the captain at my local Guard here was full time, but I don't know if any of the NCOs were. The only reason I know about the captain here is that when my money ran out at college I stopped by to get info on possibly joining. I also talked to the Navy and Army recruiters. Both the Guard captain and the Navy recruiter were cool dudes who talked to me as long as I wanted to talk and answered all of my questions. The Army recruiter, on the other hand, was a democrat. At least I assume she was because every time her mouth opened a lie fell out.

I know that the few times I have had to stop by our Battalion HQ I saw a few full time NCO's there. One is the recruiter and the other one's are training NCO and the Supply NCO and Maybe one other but I don't remember seeing the CSM in his office unless it was on the weekend. I don;t know about No Ballz Walz unit but that is what happend in my old Ibfantry unit.
