My daughter, a HS senior, just sent me a text that her government teacher is conservative
Advertisements [?]Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 10:13 AM by Gman
she asked if she can tell her that Hitler was a Republic! I sent her a text back saying "Do it!" If she even looks at her crossways I'm going to come down on her ass hard!!
She texted back saying she said it's not true Republicans raise taxes on the poor and lower them on the rich.
I texted telling her to ask her if she believes in evolution!
She texted back saying teacher said McCain is PRO-CHOICE! And Obama is PRO-LIFE!
I texted back saying tell her she doesn't know what she's talking about and I'd back her up.
I texted telling my daughter to ask her teacher if she thinks Bush and Cheney will ever be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity!
I think I'll call the office here in the next few minutes and set up a parent teacher conference next week! This will be fun!
I'll be damned if I'm going to put up with that shit!
Jesus! What a jackass mother she is! :whatever:http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3973457

You know, I can understand the mother to some extent. We have had some of our own members irritated with liberal teachers and probably close to doing something similar HOWEVER there is a time and a place for everything...this is one thing liberals never seem to understand. Texting your teenage daughter in class and disrupting the classroom environment is not an appropriate time for the PARENT to take the teacher on. The 'kid' is almost an adult: cut the apron springs mom and let her defend herself and her beliefs.

61. Americanunderground, I hope you are still there.
Obama does not blame America for all the world's woes, nor do most if not all of the posters on this site.
We do blame the failed policies of the current administration, look around you, the evidence of their incompetence is everywhere. Damaged foreign relations (we all live on the same planet of course), decaying infrastructure, increased terrorism from misunderstanding other cultures, nearly broken economy, it goes on and on.
Fox News is NOT fair and balanced, nor is most of the mainstream media. The beauty of this site is that there are thousands of interested, concerned patriotic Americans who continually seek the truth, outside of the programmed "news".
Stay awhile and read. You'll see some of that hate of course, but you'll see much more love and concern for this great country of ours. And yes, both sides have to come together to fix things before it's too late.
Colorado Thinker is a liar, ignorant, or a mole that is trying too hard to fit in. Since he/she only has 474 posts I'll assume that he/she doesn't know much about DU and is simply ignorant.

watch the fight turn from this into "that rat bastard Repukelican took my daughter's phone and wont give it back to her!!! now i cant tell her what i think anymore!!!"

so 'this administration' is responsible for the decaying infrastructure of this entire nation?
i wish, really i do, that they could wrap their little brains around the fact that New Orleans (and various other state govts) knew their infrastructure was in trouble decades ago. in fact, since Katrina, the New Orleans legislature has had excuses about making repairs to their own city!

that's the way it is. If I need to know something, I don't want rules getting in the way.

Nooooooooooooooo. You lose.
Also, confronting a teacher about his/her politics WHILE YOUR DAUGHTER IS IN THAT CLASS is pretty stupid.

101. What don't you get?
My daughter baited the teacher and she took the bait...
Jeez... We don't raise any kids around here that keep their heads down and stay shutup.

If true (which I doubt), I feel sorry for the daughter. When she gets in to the real world it is going to be quite a shock.

Especially when at her first job she's told to STFU and get back to work!

Maybe she can text her mom and get her to get her job back.

I have no problem with a teacher discussing politics with the students in a government class, as long as the teacher is not forcing his/her beliefs down the students' throats. The moonbat makes no allegation that the teacher was doing that and, in reality, it was the moonbat forcing its beliefs down the teacher's throat. It would be funny to see the moonbat getting its ass handed to it at a parent-teacher conference, but as Frank says "DUmmies lie", so I expect the teacher to get in trouble.

No, it makes you sound retarded. At least you could be creative and call us the Repug party, the Repuke Party, the Republikkkan party, or even the RepublicGODDAMFASCISTMOTHERF*CKINGMORAN PARTY. I mean, come on. ::)

At least that is the story you will hear no matter what happens.

I love it when liberals try to tie the Nazi Party to the modern U.S. Republican Party like it isn't a story of big-government bureaucrats run amok with the Lebensborns and their Waffengesetzs political policies.

I lower my students' grades for texting in class.
It's rude & interferes with learning.

and that's what she did. If the teacher doesn't like the texting and then getting confronted over lies, she can get over it or get another job.
I'm goin' Republican huntin'!

103. You're Teaching Your Daughter to be a Dumbass
If you're going to encourage her to debate with her teachers (via text message, in the middle of class), at least try to get your facts correct.
Hitler was a Republican. ****ing brilliant.
And by brilliant, I mean stupid.

If it's actually for real this is the most egregious helicopter mom nonsense ever, but I'm confident it's a drunken fantasy.

114. Let's be real clear here
no one thinks Hitler was a Republican. Since the teacher was apparently throwing out conservative BS, she just threw something out there just to irritate the teacher who is a RW ass. If the teacher was going to throw crap out there, so did our daughter.
Bravo. Shininhg example of liberal parenting.

Can't have that. The student might just do some independent learning and discover that the parental unit is a whackjob nutter.
