We’ve done this before. It’s a catch-all thread for singular posts where you don’t want to bring over the whole thread.
On a thread that asks why anyone should listen to what George Clooney has to say, we get this from Lord Marblehead:

9. It is a bit weird
For the last 20+ years I’ve laughed at Republicans and their dumb “Democrats are controlled by Hollywood!” conspiracies.
Feels odd to find out that apparently George Clooney gets to decide who our nominee is.
Maybe we should at least find out Don Cheadle or Andy Garcia’s opinion before we do anything rash.

He tries to be funny. Fail.
Several of them are getting a taste of who really controls their party. Clooney put this out because Obama gave him the thumbs up to do it. I doubt Clooney even wrote it. But over the next few days, they’re getting ready to find out who runs the Dem Party. And if they upset these people, they’ll find out the consequences of doing that.

George Clooney didn't raise $28M for Biden? Or maybe Biden returned the money? From https://apnews.com/article/biden-hollywood-fundraiser-obama-clooney-roberts-democrats-594132165b20d73e61d76eb2259295fb :
On Saturday, A-listers George Clooney and Julia Roberts will team up with former President Barack Obama at a Biden fundraiser in Los Angeles, where the three will be interviewed by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Roberts and Kimmel have already begun soliciting donations via text for Biden, ...
...
Director Steven Spielberg is involved in storytelling efforts for the Democratic National Convention in August. Lenny Kravitz, Barbra Streisand and James Taylor have all performed for Biden donors.
Others who’ve sent fundraising emails, organized events or otherwise lent their support include Connie Britton of “The White Lotus” fame, singer-songwriter Carole King, “Bridgerton” creator Shonda Rhimes, singer Christina Aguilera, “The Equalizer” actress Queen Latifah and “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill, who turned up in the White House briefing room last month to personally praise the president.
And, in another instance blurring lines between real life and make-believe, during a fundraiser at the home of veteran actor Michael Douglas, Biden, the actual president, congratulated the star of the 1996 hit “The American President” on his fictional administration’s success.
Hollyweird money speaks.

I found these interesting:
41. He is good at raising money. That doesn't make him a political strategist.

He should stick to his knitting.
If he doesn't want to fund raise anymore for whatever reason that is fine.
But he should not be interfering with matters above his pay grade.
Independents and moderate Republicans look at this situation and think, Democrats have no loyalty; look how they treat their friends. This is not a good look for our party.
All of a sudden celebrities aren’t strategists :thatsright:
24. When Clooney was supporting Biden as the nominee and raising money for him,

After earlier calling the President of Ukraine Vladimir Putin.
This clown is an absolute embarrassment.

2. Agree
But I think if it had been Biden who was shot, the magats would be whining it wasn’t successful

You "think" they would be whining it wasn't successful as opposed to those on DU who are *actually saying* they wish it had been successful.

In real life, this "magat" would denounce the assassination attempt. I doubt many other conservatives would express disappointment. Want LIEden ballot-box-clubbed-like-a-baby-seal, yes, but not assassinated.

To paraphrase a line my dear, sainted father used to say, "If you KILL 'em [the DUm'Rats] don't learn anything".

All the calls for violence in the violent rhetoric comes from the left. I don’t remember seeing anyone calling to assassinate Biden or the squad or mad Maxine for her filthy ramblings about attacking conservatives when they see them. Then you have your shock troops antifa and BLM they’re all yours. They’re all yours. You created them. The conservatives don’t do business.
