As you can see, I have returned to DU after a brief absence...
something -- I don't know what -- happened but alluva sudden I was not recognized as a member of DU. I've been a star member for 19 years with the same name so what happened?
I didn't realize how awful it was not to be able to post threads and reply to other members threads. It didn't feel good.
Fortunately, I have a computer whiz (who is helping me with my self published book in terms of layout and design). It's a joint effort of an old lady and a young computer guy. It kinda works out fine: I get his technical expertise and he gets free art history lessons. And he is learning how to appreciate a beautiful thing in life, even if you don't particularly want to go to museums like I do. It was great to hear him say "Wow, that's beautiful!" when he was dealing with an essay I had done on Titian. He was helping me obtain photos of the works that had a requisite number of pixels to publish without blurring. (I was careful to use those that were under "fair use" in reproduction).
Anyway, happy to be back functioning here at DU!

Turning on the computer fixed the problem :loser:
