How Obama Blew It: Pays Price in Polls for Bungled Attacks on Sarah
by Kirsten Powers for the New York Post

Yesterday's Gallup poll had John McCain ahead of Barack Obama by an astonishing 10 points among likely voters. A Washington Post poll had that lead at only two points, but clearly showed a McCain surge - especially among women. This wasn't what Democrats were expecting when they left Denver - yet they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Lets not jump into he trap lept into.   He hasn't blown it yet.  I will say he has inhaled a lot, and is full of hot air and is prepared to blow it big time, but he can still recover.

Take it nice and easy.  Let Obama do all the heavy lifting of destroying his candidicy.  We can count on him, providing we don't give him an out.

And calling Palin a "pig" isn't "blowing it"?

We are still at 50+ days.  Unless I see Hillary going third party or Obama all of the sudden at 24% in the polls, it is still recoverable.  He has the media.

I do notice on the betting sites that Hillary for president odds are suddenly improving a bit.  Not by much..

Baruch, there are polls upon polls which are showing HUGE shifts over the past two weeks.  Not your average post-convention bounces, mind you--these are 20+ point shifts in demographics where people don't typically make up their minds until the week before the election, sometimes not even until they're in the voting booth.

NC is now FIRMLY in McCain's camp--so much so that Obama is pulling staff out of other states to try and stop the bleeding.  States that would NEVER have been in play in 2004 are suddenly toss ups, like Minnesota and even California.  Who knew, indeed?

I ws reading that independants are shifting heavily.  So heavily Plouffe, BHO's tealeaf reader has to claim its "wrong".

Quote
"The notion that people are swinging back and forth in the span of a few weeks or a few days this wildly generally isn't borne out," Obama told reporters during a campaign stop in Riverside, Ohio.

His campaign manager, David Plouffe, was more pointed when asked about the findings at a briefing on Monday, telling a Washington Post reporter, "Your poll is wrong."

Sure Dave, keep telling yourself that...

Ha! Ha!

That is DEAD on.

I'm not holding my breathe but it's nice to see at least one media outlet nailing it for a change.

Excellent article.  If nothing else it serves to highlight just how inept an Obama presidency would actually be.  If you can do a good job of fact checking your opponent ... how can you keep the USA safe?

Kirsten Powers is a democrat on Hannity and Colmes a lot.  She even sits in for Alan Colmes.  She is one of the more level-headed democrats...not a libtard.  She's smart.

Gore and Kerry had the media too.

They lost.

You're absolutely correct. I don't agree with her, she's obviously a democrat, but she's usually fair. Of course, sitting next to that Kool-Aid drinking Colmes, she looks almost conservative.

Every time Obama speaks with a phony Southern accent, compares Palin to a pig, he'll resurrect those thoughts of non-coast people about them clutching their Bibles and their guns.

He's an elitist who sneers at the majority of the "typical white folks" and those black people who don't agree with him.

PAYS PRICE IN POLLS FOR BUNGLED ATTACKS ON SARAH

Obama's toughest challenge has always been to connect with working-class swing voters. So attacking the poster child for small-town values, Sarah Palin, was a bad strategy.

No, Obama didn't engage in the mass sneering at Palin - but he did fall into the trap of disrespecting her. When McCain chose her, the Obama campaign's first response was to ridicule the size of her town. Then the candidate himself began referring to her as a "former mayor" when she is in fact a sitting governor.

When she retaliated (justifiably) by mocking his stint as a organizer, the Obama camp was clearly rattled. Obama himself actually began arguing about the importance of community organizing. His supporters amplified this cry - claiming Palin's attack was a racist slur and passing around e-mails titled "Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor."

Meanwhile, the rest of the country was probably wondering what being a community organizer has to do with being president.
