Just received from reader Jeff: The latest, desperate plea from Obama’s Palin-bashing backers at Us Weekly magazine to stop the bleeding. (You’ll recall that on Sep 5., I posted the first groveling missive from the rag’s customer service department urging readers to read the smear-filled article before canceling. Oops. Bad advice.)
They are on their knees:

Perhaps he will lose his job and be Gov. Palin's first Vice Presidential victim, after all we know she is all out of caribou. :-)

what was that quote from an alaska democrat? something along the lines of, "the landscape is littered with the bodies of people that have opposed her."
(it may have been "bodies of people that underestimated her", but it's much the same thing)

Hopefully US is a lesson to other apolitical rags that think to venture into cheap thrill politics.

Winfrey has been damaged for a while now. Her viewership is way down. I think it has more to do with the fact she has stayed too long at the fair than it does anything political. Of course, she's not helping herself either. An entertainer who takes a direct and active role in politics takes a big risk. Her embrace of the Big Zero looks silly and ill-conceived now.

Notice how the magazine puts all the blame on the reader?
"We are sorry you are upset over the Governor Palin cover."
Not, "We are sorry for upsetting you with the Governor Palin cover."
Nice try, US.
