Rudy Giuliani once told Chuck Todd that "the truth is not the truth". He believes the truth is whatever he wants it to be.

Someone once said that a lie can travel half-way around the world while the truth is putting its shoes on. So is the nature of a lie.

So is the nature of a liar like Rudy. A lie can be changed. A lie can be ignored. A lie can disappear.

But the truth cannot be ignored. It is always there.

Rudy is set to appear before the Fulton County DA, Fani Willis, and his lies will not make any of his problems disappear.

The truth is that you cannot commit crimes against the people of this country and expect to lie your way out of it.

I'm not a Giuliani fanboy, but I'm 99% sure this is a misquote or ripped out of context, and Giuliani's point was very different from how kt spun it (the remaining 1% is not yet fully caffeinated).

As I suspected, kt misrepresented what Giuliani and Todd were talking about in 2018. Giuliani was talking about when two witnesses tell "their truth" but "their truths" contradict one another, https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/rudy-giuliani-clarifies-his-truth-isnt-truth-statement , https://time.com/5371650/rudy-giuliani-truth-isnt-truth/ . The context in 2018 was the Mueller investigation and Trump's distrust - later proven to be quite warranted - of Mueller's operatives.

As the old saying goes, "A text out of context is a pretext."
