Spending the week with right-wing in-laws... observations
We don't talk about politics much but there was a little this morning. Nobody has said anything about Trump. I've heard "What do you think about Tim Scott?" (I said he was an asshole.) Also heard, "That Manchin is an interesting guy." And ""Seems like RFK Jr. Is trying to appeal as a third party candidate."
I suspect that Republicans are desperately trying to find an alternative to Trump.
They're going to watch the Sound of Freedom movie today. I declined to go. Nothing I said made any impact except to make them kind of mad at me.

I think it far more likely that yardwork's in-laws were trolling for reactions and the Tim Scott reaction amused them.

lWe also don’t talk politics and the other sisters husband is the right winger and I barely say a word around him. I don’t know how she stays married to him so the love must be strong between them except for politics.
Love and she’s not so closed minded as you and is willing to accept the fact that there’s other options than hers that’s called tolerance.
You have to be a very small person to be so intolerant

As evidenced by his 35 point lead over the nearest primary contender with everybody else below 6.

No, republicans are just generally more willing to look at alternatives to their own party than are democrats.

Sounds like The in-laws were going above and beyond to make this DUmbass welcome and it shit all over his nice host's efforts. Typical unself aware idiot leftist behavior. I suspect that DUchebag yardwork will never be invited back.

What's wrong? Don't want to see an actual successful movie? :whatever:

My guess it's uncomfortable because it hits too close to home.

Pols - especially the Progs attaching the movie - and denizens of Hollyweird need to be challenged as to how many are customers of the traffickers or of traffickers' "distribution" (= pimps and brothel managers).

And there is not a single asshole-ish thing about Tim Scott. He's a great guy, from what I see.

Which is part of what POs DU-grade Progs.

You forget; DUm'Rat character assessments most often can be attributed to the DUm'Rat projecting s/h/its own sins, moral failings and character traits s/h/it likes least about s/h/itself upon those who do not fall into absolute ideological lockstep with s/h/it.
My recommendation is to think of these moments more as DUm'Rat confessions, and understand that confession is good for the soul; even the blackened, cankered soul of a DUm'Rat. :puke:

Those poor inlaws. What did they do to deserve that?

But the DUmmies really (really really really) don't like it with people with his skin-colour think for themselves - they want to keep them all stuck there on the plantation.

There's a lot in Scott's personal story for Progs to hate: he grew up in poverty; he was mentored by a CfA fanchisee; participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes; BA in PoliSci from a Baptist university; worked in the insurance industry to the point of owning his own agency; member of his County's Council, the first black R to be elected to that office since the 19th Century; a term in SC's State House of Representatives; a term in the US House of Representatives; now a US Senator in his second full term.

That Manchin is an interesting guy."
Right, flip flop joe who sold out to get some pork for his state..
I’m sure the republicans would love to have him as a candidate :thatsright: :mental: :loser:
