If the Russians had sent a couple of drones to attack the White House Correspondents Dinner while Biden was speaking there, would that have made Sleepy Joe more likely to order that charges against Julian Assange be dropped? Well, no more likely than the Russians are now more disposed to release imprisoned Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Dershkovich following the drone attack upon the Kremlin in an attempt to assassinate Vladimir Putin.

Oh, and one possible side effect of such an attack upon the Kremlin is that it could lead to a thermonuclear war that could destroy all life on earth but the main thing is that it makes the release of the reporter much more difficult.

Kremlin says Ukraine sent two drones to attack Vladimir Putin

RIGA, Latvia — Russia on Wednesday accused Ukraine of staging a drone attack intended to hit the Kremlin residence of and kill President Vladimir Putin, an electric allegation that could create justification for Russia to escalate its war in Ukraine.

Russia said it had thwarted the attack and that Putin was not in the building at the time.

The allegation of an assassination attempt, which could not be independently confirmed, was made in a statement shared by the Kremlin press service with Russian state news agencies on Wednesday afternoon.

The video is embedded. Russia's claim of a thwarted assassination attempt is absurd on a multiple levels.

1. The drones were clearly in controlled flight, with no sign of disruption.

2. The drones "attacked" the dome of the Kremlin. Who here believes Putin dwells in, meets with people in, or even visits the top dome of the Kremlin?

3. The drones exploded over the dome, where there very moderate explosive charge would do little or no damage.

4. While myriad Russian missile and drone strikes against the city of Kyiv make Moscow a correspondingly valid target, would Ukraine really expend two fairly long range drones against a target with near-zero military value? Even for something akin to a Doolittle Raid symbolic attack (from which Hornet and Enterprise returned, and most B-25 pilots & crew survived without being captured)?

I suppose the latter is possible, whether by Ukraine or anti-Putin Russians. That this was captured on video suggests an organized effort by someone.

Another equally or more plausible possibility is that it was a Putin-planned or inspired false flag action by Russia. I'm not committed to this possibility, but it seems the more plausible, in light of 1-4.

As to the US reporter being held hostage by Russia, he is totally unrelated to the drone "attack", whether false-flag, by anti-Putin Russians, or by Ukraine.

These two videos include videos of the "attack" and commentary. The first is 6-7 hours old, and the second .5-1 hour old:

A Drone Hits the Roof of the Kremlin - YouTube (http://"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNa5kyX6Y2I")
Update on the Drone Attack on the Kremlin -- Two New Videos, Geolocation of the Direction and More! - YouTube (http://"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGPsCTnKfrg")

Given the path Ukrainian drones would have to follow - threading through multiple major anti-aircraft sites - and the direction of the drones as they hit (the first) and exploded over the Kremlin (the second), i.e. an indirect path going through more Moscow AA batteries than a direct path would, it is doubtful these drones came from Ukraine.

Stepping back from the whodunit question, are Russian air defenses so @#$%-poor that two moderate-speed low-moderate-tech drones travelled 280-300 miles past at least 4 major SAM sites and through Moscow's SAM batteries undestroyed and undetected? Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh ... this was either a Russian false-flag publicity stunt, some sort of anti-Putin partisan act, or the heads of every officer and every senior sergeant operating every SAM battery from the Ukraine border to the Kremlin should be rolling around Red Square.
