I just did a search for mass shootings in 2023
and came up with the Gun Violence Archive. According to the maps page, most mass shootings have been in red states, including Texas and Florida. A lot of other types of shootings were also in red states.
Gee, what a coincidence.

[edit] And a good piece about the archive itself:

Your sources are terrible

This has become the latest leftist canard, that these sad incidents are taking place in "red" states. But the proper way to frame them is that most take place in cities run by leftists/socialists/communists.
Still no magic red hat amongst these jacksasses who commit such atrocities.

Conveniently ignoring the OTHER maps at the same site, which show injuries and deaths very heavy in such places as California, New York, Indian, ect cetera.
Cherry picking as usual.

The DUm'Rats would never hear anything if it weren't for hearing just what they want to hear.

It's an intellectual sleight of hand, bringing state politics into an issue that happens at a local level.
Of course, these mass shooting statistics are skewed by what is happening in Democratic-controlled cities.

The latest outrage was perpetrated by an ILLEGAL ALIEN who shouldn’t be here in the first place and should never have had the gun.

Hokay ... wish I could post a picture of the "Mass Shootings in 2023", https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/charts-and-maps , (I wonder how many would be called "mass shootings" by the FBI's definition of the term), but for the western US, working west to east, north to south:
Seattle; Portland; SF Bay Area; Sacramento; Stockton; Fresno; LA Area; San Bernardino; San Diego - mostly Dem-misgoverned cities
SW Utah; Phoenix; Tucson - Arizona cities' mayors are both Dems
Boulder (?, the dots are very obviously shifted northward from actual locations of major CO cities); Denver, Colorado Springs - only the latter has an R mayor
Brownsville(?); Lubbock; DFW; Austin-San Antonio area; Houston area - I'll leave it to Texas folk more familiar with those cities and areas to comment, but I'm pretty sure the relevant cities mostly have Dem mayors.
I'll leave central and eastern US cities to anyone caring to continue looking at the details of the map. It's an analysis that won't be to the liking of DU-onlurkers.

And predictably, the left's response is to deflect and place the blame on republicans.
In internet parlance, I believe the expression is "no u".

5. Cities
It is always concentrated in the cities. Living in Louisiana, New Orleans and Baton Rouge make up the lion's share of all shootings.
Oh, just for fun, lets go googling just to be safe....
The Mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell (D)
The Mayor of Baton Rouge, Sharon Weston Broome (D)
What. A. Shocker.

I've done one too and it indicates that trannys are responsible for 10X the number of their representative population percentage.

Facts don't matter to leftists, just the narrative.
BTW, three of the largest cities in the U.S. are in my former home state of Texas: Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. Guess what political party is in charge of all three? Yet brain dead leftists blame all this on Governor Abbott, just as they did to former Governor Rick Perry and George W. Bush.
