Here's what this indictment really does for us
It has been a long-standing belief you can’t indict a former president.

The New York grand jury has permanently put an end to that belief. Now the Georgia and Federal authorities can go after him without the fear of setting an unwanted precedent.

What it does is prove you want a war.

2. It was always a straight-up myth talked up by the worst criminal ever in politics

A long standing myth never spoken before Trump (iIrc).

Indictment certainly faced a political barrier but the Nation prides itself upon its own self-proclaimed goodness with equal justice for all under the law.
The myth of equal justice long out-dates the can't-indict myth.

3. There is the E. Jean Carroll Civil case next month

That will label TIDFG(The Indicted Defeated Former Guy) a sexual predator. Chew on that Donnie Dipshit.

More of an idiot prosecutor "digging" for what can be used and violating the rule of law.

The case is falling flipping spinning apart as we sit here, but the decision to pull the trigger on the indictment attaches to the Orwells and Willingburgers on DU like a runic curse, no matter what.

There is a legal opinion that a sitting President cannot be indicted.  That's why the Impeachment process exists.  There's no belief that a former President cannot be indicted.

This indictment is indeed stupid.  Especially since, by all appearances, it is predicated on an alleged offense for which the statute of limitations has expired.

And if it's true that there's 30+ charges coming I think Bragg could be just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Or maybe he thinks that, since there's so many charges, a jury would compromise and just find guilty on some of the counts. But I guess we'll know more when the charges become public.

Which would mean that the rotting bag of bones currently occupying the Whitehouse better test the theory that a sitting president can pardon himself before he leaves office.
