5. Americans are just uninformed. That's why GWB was in the White House for 8 years.
I honestly don't see how a democracy can be maintained without an informed public.

13. That's the Achilles heel of democracy - an uninformed citizenry...
You know, the kind whose entire world views are formed by Madison Avenue. "Aint that America..."

33. Your ending quote is misattributed...
...H.L. Mencken coined that phrase.
Barnum said, "A sucker is born every minute."
Guess who that makes the stupid one? :rotf:

3. I expect that to continue through tuesday
This will be the last time mcsame will see a lead in the polls. Obama is back in the mix after the media blackout of the puke convention and the numbers will swiftly return to his favor

20. That's what I'm waiting on. Obama and Biden...
should SMOKE McCain and Palin in the debates. If we're going to claim a strong win, it will be from the debates.

Why are the Obamaite primitives all worried?
For more than a month, we've been told by the Obamaite primitives the game's up, the game's over, Barry "Six States" Obama's already won. And some Obamaite primitives have insisted by a landslide, too.
Why are the Obamaite primitives all worried about this?

The curtain's been drawn back by "Dorothy" Palin, on the "wizard" behind the curtain--Obama. Now, he's not the same for all of the rest of the world.

Wait just a darn second. I thought W has been in the White House for 8 years because he stole two elections. Are you now telling me that he's been in there because uninformed people didn't know any better then to actually elect him?

Don't bother looking for consistencies at Little Goon Island. You will fall off the edge of the earth.
For example, the reality is that an "uninformed public" is just about the only thing which kept the democrats in control of our government for so many dark years. It is the now informed public, who do not have to rely on CBS, NBC, ABC, & PBS for all information, which shuns them. Otherwise, why would the Little Goons think this nation needs a revival of the "Fairness Doctrine"?

OH MY!!!
That's an eleven point swing.
All it takes is one person to show what a farce the Obama is.
The selected candidate is toast, the DNC chairman is toast, the speaker of the house is toast.......

Yeah, they are ill-informed allright. So was the guy who set up shop down on the main drag here with signs that read 'Democrats for McCain'. Obama is unacceptable to a lot of folks, even democrats, and no it's not because of his shade you twits!

In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.

This is a very promising convention bounce. If Governor Palin's campaign is handled properly this edge could last. I think you also need to consider that some percentage of respondents in any poll will answer Obama, for fear of being considered racist.
After all, anyone who does not accept the Obamessiah must be racist, right? There will be no such fear in the privacy of the voting booth.
Privacy does great harm to the Obamessiah's vote totals. That is why he destroyed The Beast in the states using caucuses, where you must publicly declare your preference, but did much worse in states with secret ballot primaries.

what's the matter DUmmy ? making unsubstantiated bets on the polls ? graveyard whistling ?
I agree there may be some post-bounce leveling, but at this point we still don't know for sure where the peak is. It depends on alot of different factors, many of which we have yet to see.

Shotgun Wedding At the White House?????
But for Ms.Palin's disclosure of her daughter's 'condition.'
And but for Ms.Palin's public love of shooting wolves and polar bears from the air...
I would not bring up the private subject.......
But since Ms.Palin thought it worthy of public dislclosure, I ask....
When and where??????? And will there be a shotgun???
Will Jamie Lynn attend???

Im still hunting for fresh state polls - Judging by McCain decision to spend money in California to campaign tells me that the current listed swing-states may have swung to to the right, and now McCain is attacking in former Obama "safe" territory. That would force Obama to spend money in his own back yard. This is only good for us.
Imagine -- California a Swing State... Ruh-Ro Shaggy!

This is from August: Obama's Lead Over McCain Narrows In California
(AP)
Democrat Barack Obama's lead over Republican John McCain in the presidential race is narrowing in California.
The Public Policy Institute of California poll says Obama's support has fallen since the institute's last poll in July and McCain's support among California voters who consider themselves independent is growing.

This from September:
New poll: Voters see GOP-McCain surge on national security over Obama's wimpy Democrats
Oh-oh. Did you just feel the ground shake a little -- and not only in California's earthquake zones?
With new polls showing the presidential race still essentially tied, even after all the conventions' hoopla and doo-dah, another poll that probes deeper finds voters' concerns over national security shifting -- and not in a good direction for Democrats.
The elections of 2006, which were about congressional incompetence except when it came to Republican corruption, gave the Democrats control of both houses and showed that their party had essentially tied the GOP in terms of voter respect over national security, long a Republican strong suit.
No more. As our blogging colleague Mark Silva notes, the wimp factor about Democrats has returned to shadow voters' minds. The national security gap has reopened. Democrats are regaining their reputation with voters as wimps.
Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner has just released a survey that indicates voters perceive Republicans once again as far and away better on national security issues than Democrats.
Forty nine percent of those surveyed thought....
...Republicans were better on national security while 35% thought Democrats better. When it came to combating terrorism, 48% thought Republicans superior to Democrats while 33% gave Democrats the advantage.
