I like most of what he has done at the state level, but I do not trust him due to his globalist backers, his endorsement by paul ryan, his votes for the tpp in congress, his focus on social issues while ignoring economic issues, and his backstabbing of President Trump.By backstabbing, I mean not having Trumps back when it comes to things like the maralago raid, after winning his governorship almost entirely due to Trumps endorsement.

None of that sits well with me at all.

Understood. It is far too early for an intelligent conservative voter to make a concrete choice right now. But I read and pay very close attention to how the particular candidates (or potential ones) stand on the issues I care about most.

My track record on candidate support during the years I lived in the 1st caucus state have never had good success, but I'm proud of each in retrospect. Included in that bunch would be Steve Forbes in 1996, Fred Thompson in 2008, and Ted Cruz in 2016.

I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll say it again: If Trump doesn’t lay off calling DeSantis names and acting the way he has been towards him, Trump will lose enough voters to flop in 2024 should he be the nominee. Talk about the issues, stop the name calling, quit acting so thin-skinned. Trump keeps it up and he can kiss the election good-bye.

Respectfully, the polls, if we are to believe them, do not reflect any of that.

Myself, i prefer a bare knuckle brawler to a polished 'i'm above that' establishment type.

No more establishment 'business as usual' types. We may as well just vote dem if we're going to vote for one of them. The destination is the same with either, the only difference is how soon we get there, and to what degree we're lied to about it in the mean time.

My only point is that if Trump continues to call DeSantis names, he may win the Primary, but he will lose the General Election. Should that be the case, he’ll have no one to blame but himself, because the warning signs are palpable. I’m hoping he’ll pay heed, but have no faith he will. I’m just letting the CC board know what will take place, realizing that it’s likely that many are thinking the same thing and for the same reasons I am.

Until mail in voting and ballot harvesting are corrected, NO republican will win UNLESS whoever is in ultimate charge believes said republican is bought and paid for more than the democrat.

Take it to the bank..

Even with that set aside, only DUmmies, leftists and morons are going to prioritize 'nice' over economic reality

Many biden voters have buyers remorse with biden, and while they wont say so publicly, they know that another Trump term is the better choice versus another 4 years of an addled figurehead with extremist ideologue underlings running the country into the ground.

Biden had a turn running things, and all the talking points in the world don't make fuel and energy prices go down, make money in ones wallet go farther, keep us out of wars we have no business in, or make it ok for government to get between a parent and a child

I expect that it will be Trump that is credited with 81+ million votes this next election. Whether they'll be able to cheat their way out of it remains to be seen.

I agree one hundred percent. He's practically lost me. On the other hand I foresee that if Trump does not get the nomination he will run a third party and it will be 1992 and Perot all over again.

Meh. All those things are just transitory or so I am told.  :-)

Every single month the corrupt criminal and pedophile has been installed as president, real wages have gone down. America and the world are far worse off since Shits his Pants stole the election. Only the top .001% have gotten better off from working class senator MBNA Biden.

Exactly. And only the most braindead of the masses can successfully lie to themselves about it at the gas pump or the grocery counter, and believe the lies.

Bad news for Ron DeStablishment! He can’t even beat
@realDonaldTrump
in his home state where he has 100% name ID.

Maybe if Ron stopped working with Paul Ryan, the Bushes, Karl Rove, and other swamp rats, he would do better!

Floridians also voted for Ron for 4 years but he couldn’t care less about them. He’s only in it for himself.

And there is this:

Quote
Trump extends lead over DeSantis in new [Quinnipiac University] poll of possible GOP primary field

Excerpt:

Asked in the new poll who they would support in a head-to-head matchup between Trump and DeSantis, 51% of respondents chose the former president, versus 40% who picked the governor.

“DeSantis might be the buzz in the GOP conversation, but for now Trump is seeing no erosion and, in fact, enjoys a bump in his lead in the Republican primary,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a statement.

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/03/15/2024-gop-primary-polls-trump-grows-lead-over-desantis.html?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_content=Main&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1678909017

As I've said many times. I know only that about desantis, which is publicly available. Some of it is good, and some of it is bad. But what is bad, is the unacceptable kind of bad.  Deal breaker bad. Globalist bad.

Being good on social issues isn't enough. If you aren't America First, you're America last, just like biden but with red instead of blue. And there is also the issue of who gets control of FLA if desantis vacates the governors position. That's an issue that I would not want to have to deal with, were I a FLA resident and voter.
