Brittney Griner is once again free. Her illegal, immoral hostage captivity has ended. For that alone today is a day to celebrate.
That it cost us Viktor Bout is not good news. He will likely go back to work, maybe this time for weapons-starved Russia. Maybe for some other miscreants.
That Paul Whelan remains similarly held by Putin's Russia is not good. His family has been gracious toward Griner. The rest of us should follow that lead. At a minimum.
To me, these are three separate facts. The second two cited take NOTHING away from Griner getting rescued.
To hear from the right wing of our citizens is nothing short of disgusting. To read similar but softer sentiment even ere on DU saddens me.

My pet theory is that when leftists say 'illegal', they don't mean someone necessarily broke the law, they mean someone transgressed the left's view of how things should be.
