COVID is back, says French PM

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said Tuesday that "the COVID epidemic is starting again" and called for preventative measures.
Borne said that more than 40,000 cases are being detected every day at the moment, while "an increase of almost 10 percent in hospitalizations, 22 percent increase in hospitalizations in critical care and 400 deaths from COVID" was observed last week.
"This new wave reminds us: The virus has not disappeared, the epidemic strikes again, kills again," she added.
The prime minister stressed that hospitals are facing additional pressure due to an epidemic of bronchiolitis as well as the flu season.

Looking at France data, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/france/ , There have been bumps in new cases in October and November. However, there have not been corresponding increases in daily deaths.
Being fear-driven, many/most DUmmies will ignore these facts. The silver lining is that fewer DUmmies will be out about, lowering chances of DUmmie encounters at stores (except in fictional :bouncy: s, of course).

The average DU-member is younger than me? I remember those Civics. Great gas mileage, but small capacity. I'm not sure I could fold into one. I remember "Consumer Reports" magazine had an article when Honda introduced the Accord. CR panned it as a terrible step backwards ... real life consumers, ummmm, felt otherwise.

Not sure we'd recognize a difference, but more :popcorn: for us. If they have extra :bouncy:-writing time, maybe they could use the time to improve the quality of their :bouncy: s.

Anybody - DUmmie or otherwise - who imagined the SARS-CoV-2 virus would "go away" doesn't know how viruses work, nor history (e.g., influenza viruses keep coming back year after year).
