The "Crime" Issue ?
Republicans are running on the "crime' issue. They should be running away from it.

Gun violence is the worst "crime" issue now facing the America people and it is not the Democrats that refuse to do anything about it. It is the Republican Party.

Democrats should welcome any discussions about the "crime" issue, in my opinion.

If guns on the street were not as common as M&Ms, the crime rate would be a lot lower and the American people would be a lot safer.

Republicans want to talk about "crime"?

Let's talk about it.

BLAH BLAH BLAH KENTUCK

Kentuck is such an idiot.

"Gun violence" is MOSTLY in democrat run cities with the harshest gun laws in the country. Chiraq, Los Angeles, etc., AND it's mostly black on black. Most of those murders are committed by felons who are barred by law from owning or possessing guns. Yet their crimes are reduced to misdemeanors or outright dropped by progressive/liberal DA's to put the felon back on the street with no punishment, to continue breaking the law and terrorizing the communities they live in.

Yes, let's take a look at crime. But I don't think the conversation will go the way you think it will..

1. Does kt really want to talk about how areas with stringent gun laws are also high crime areas? The gun laws kt wants disarm law abiding people and empower criminals who ignore the gun laws because of the "career" they chose.

2. Does kt really want to talk about how Prog DAs and "bail reform" release repeat offenders to the streets so they can and do commit more crime? These "Progressive" DAs and "bail reform" empower criminals and violent crazies, multiplying crime.

3. Does kt really want to talk about how pols who put targets on the backs of good police officers enables criminals? The Ferguson Effect afflicts many large, Dem-misruled cities' police departments, and criminals are enabled. Marilyn Mosby and Baltimore.

But all the guns come from nearby conservative states with lax gun laws! (Lib-turd mode)

The libs have come up with this absurd talking point that goes something like 90% of the cities with the most murders are run by Republicans. I did the research, and they're using per-capita data and including very small cities (including ones under 50k population) while ignoring the raw totals of large ones.

Abolishing cash bail and neutering the powers of police to do their jobs is making crime exponentially worse in large cities.

So yes, please campaign on crime, Kentuck! That won't end the way you think it will.

C'mon man, by "let's talk about it", he really means he gets to preach and we get to listen and obey. Don't you know if we ban all guns, the bad guys won't have any to steal. Eventually they'll run out and we'll have peace in our time.

Unless the black market and smuggled gun imports replenish their arsenal.

What about all those sneaky hand assembled ghost guns?

You mean the ones that fire the x-ray invisible plastic, heat seeking, corner turning bullets?

Hah!

Any discussion with DUmmies about gun violence would have to begin by identifying which demographic is responsible for the bulk of it.

I don't think any of them want anything to do with that.

Blue cities bleeding: Homicide rates surging in major cities run by Soros-backed DAs

https://justthenews.com/nation/crime/homicide-rates-surging-major-cities-run-soros-backed-das (https://justthenews.com/nation/crime/homicide-rates-surging-major-cities-run-soros-backed-das)

Quote
WalletHub compared 50 of America's largest cities based on per capita homicides for the third quarter (July through September) of each year since 2020, using locally published crime data to compile its findings.

According to WalletHub, these were the ten cities with the highest homicide cases per 100,000 residents from July through September:

1. St. Louis, Mo. (19.69)
2. Kansas City, Mo. (14.86)
3. Detroit, Mich. (13.24)
4. Baltimore, Md. (12.45)
5. New Orleans, La. (10.99)
6. Milwaukee, Wisc. (10.46)
7. Memphis, Tenn. (9.99)
8. Philadelphia, Pa. (9.36)
9. Norfolk, Va. (7.78)
10 Chicago, Ill. (7.71)

The top prosecutors in most of these cities are backed by progressive megadonor George Soros, a billionaire who's spent the last several years injecting tens of millions of dollars into local district attorney races nationwide, backing candidates who support policies such as abolishing bail, defunding the police, and decriminalizing or deprioritizing certain offenses.

My emphasis. The cities WalletHub compared are not tiny towns in which each murder is statistically significant to the per capita rate. IOW, WalletHub's is an apples-apples comparison, not an apples-apricots comparison. And WalletHub's purpose is to consider various factors for people looking to move to various cities, not partisan politics.

I'm guessing Kentuck doesn't really follow the news;

Fentanyl
Human trafficking

Those 2 items are caused by our open border policy.

Opioids are a huge problem
Inner city crime

Those 2 items are mostly caused by liberal judges who let people off with no bail.

This list could be long, but I'm tired.

Wrong. Republicans do want to do something about it. You do not like what we've proposed.

The "study" that I referenced above (without citations) included a bunch of cities in Alabama and Mississippi with under 100k residents. In other words, cherry picking the data to fit their narrative by a biased lefty outlet.

Unless you boil it down to the actual total number of crimes, this is simply garbage. Since I make my living making projections by researching data, have learned how to manipulate and produce whatever the target audience wants to hear. Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Ahh yeah. I remember that graph. The Muppets were all having orgasms over there over it. Literally, and figuratively.  :naughty:
