WTF????? What weird photos.
Maybe artsy people get it, but I don't.

I wonder how my avatar photo - me in front of the Y turret of HMS Belfast - would go over. :-)

Probably get your mole banned for posting terrorist threats. Half the DUmp (the non-mole portion) would need grief counsellors to get them back on an even keel again (or as close a semblance of it as the crazies at the DUmp get, anyway).

The drill bits one is downright stupid.

The DUmmies think it is exotic simce most of them have never actually USED a drill.
-
Of all the possibilities, a picture of drill of bits is just about the last thing I would expect to be selected as the winning photo in a contest on DU. Just seems... odd.
-
Drill bits. Drill. Bits. :???:
Im sure the DUmp Mutts see it as an analogy for drilling down to the truth. Or some such metaphorical B.S. :hammer:

:rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
They all see themselves as the collective's poet/artist, never realizing that the position requires more talent than these plodding hacks have ever seen, and "connections" such as these imbeciles believe they have, only in real life.

First thing I noticed is all of those bits are unused.

Scenic pictures such as this are more to my taste:

But I "get" the drill bits and crabbing equipment pix. They are "studies" of colors, textures, light, and geometric patterns. I still prefer the MendoNoma Coast, though.

I'll admit the third photo is kind of cool. Sometimes paintings look highly realistic, whereas this photo kind of looks like a painting to me.

To me, the crabbing eq pic looks Photoshopped to enhance both colors and contrast. AFAIK, the aerial pic I posted above of Fort Ross is not enhanced, showing the stockade, cove, visitor center, State Highway 1, and the ravine (probably a creek, which may have supplied water to the fort) and trees the highway circles around. The visitors center and its parking area are relatively new The open area between the stockade and the highway is where visitors used to park.

This is far more beautiful than any of their crap:

The drill bits reminded me of a story from a college welding class. Liberal studies for the most part were mocked and ridiculed in my department. There were some "artist" majors that tried welding. They managed to leave slag that looked like rain drops across a big flat plate of metal. The instructor came by and informed them that they were doing it wrong and their methods needed work and their welds wouldn't hold. "But it's pretty!!!"

The drill bits one is downright boring. hehehe
