Smooth as baby shit, Tulsi's message doesn't surprise me. I chalk it up as another move on her part toward running in 2024. Dark horse candydate?
She didn't announce she'd join the Repubs, which is also not a surprise. It's all kabuki theater meant to get everyone oohing, and ahhing at her "courageous" move.
Tulsi is not to be trusted, though at this point I trust her more than I do Mittens, or Collins, or Manchin, or even the Murder Turtle.
Tulsi Gabbard, the former Hawaii congresswoman who ran for president in 2020, announced Tuesday her official departure from the Democratic Party.
What are the details?
The announcement is not exactly surprising. As the Democratic Party moves farther left, Gabbard (and other Democrats like her) have become increasingly alienated. In fact, Gabbard is a frequent critic of President Joe Biden and Democrats.
But what is surprising is the scathing way in which she announced her departure.
In a video, Gabbard described the Democratic Party as an "elitist cabal of warmongers" bent on dividing Americans and erasing our fundamental rights.
"I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that's under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that our enshrined in our Constitution," she said, "who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, who demonize the police but protect criminals at the expensive of law-abiding Americans, who believe in open borders, who weaponize the national security state to go after their political opponents, and, above all, who are dragging us closer to nuclear war," she explained.

After laying out why she is leaving the Democratic Party, she called on others like her to follow her lead.
"I believe in a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Unfortunately, today's Democratic Party does not. Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by, and for the powerful elite," she said.
"I'm calling on my fellow commonsense, independent-minded Democrats to join me in leaving the Democratic Party," she continued. "If you can no longer stomach the direction that so-called woke Democratic Party ideologues are taking our country, I invite you to join me."
It is not clear which political party Gabbard will now associate with. Though she is no longer a Democrat, she did not say she is now a Republican.

So instead of another left leaning Congress-shit caucussing with the Dim'Rat Party - which, by all appearances will be losing a substantial portion of it's grasp on power in January - we'll have another left-leaning RINO saying whatever she has to in order to hang on to her PERSONAL powerbase.

Gabbard is >>90% within the Dem Party mainstream, as to ideas. It's that <<10% and the party's ugliness that is the reason for the separation. If the Dem party ever becomes less ugly and a little more tolerant about tertiary and quaternary issues, she'll be back. Given the way the Dem Party ran Pro-Life Dems out of leadership, it might be a while before she returns to the Dem fold.

She's making the media rounds, enjoying her newfound status as Dem-breacher.
Except she isn't. She still has her anti-2A stance, her views on abortion are still the same, and she couldn't be more obvious about her early push for being the new "maverick", replacing Juan McLame.
And we know how McLame turned out, don't we? :whistling:

And most likely true, :-) since most of the other Dem women are so dissatisfied and miserable about everything re their lot in life, that it shows up in their distorted faces.

That's correct -- to her credit, she served/is serving in uniform and was deployed at least once. She's seen what's happened with the debacle known as Iraq and Afghanistan and will not abandon the soldiers with whom she served.
That speaks nothing toward her opinions on the social issues -- as she carefully laid out on her presidential-candidate web site -- which were overwhelmingly leftist.
Tulsi Gabbard, while easy on the eyes, is NOT to be trusted. She speaks better than the more rabid Dems, but deep in her heart she has NOT abandoned those principles. IOW, she's a snake.

The only thing I knew/heard about her was that she was a "never-trumper." ...
But thought that she was still somewhat of a conservative! :( Damnation!
