So many care. Then there's DeSantis.
Last night, a tornado hit a town in Palm Beach County. I'm in Palm Beach County and this morning, I received texts and calls from family and friends around the country to see if I was okay, or was there anything they could do, or send.
I told them all I'm fine, safe, and thanked them for checking. And I'm thankful to have not been near this horrible disaster.
Ian is a nightmare that is doing damage to Florida that will take years to make right. And it ain't over yet.
A friend with whom I'm staying has power, had the TV on, and I caught a segment of news covering a Ron DeSantis news conference. He spent quite a while explaining everything (in detail) about all he was doing. And then he called others to the podium who were concerned about the storm, but spewed many words complementing DeSantis, thanking him for all he was doing, and spending just a bit too much time kissing his ass. I watched for a while then turned it off in disgust.
There I was, safe, and watching a bunch of appointed people thanking the prick who is our governor for doing the basic, minimum part of his job. In the meantime, a couple of million people on Florida's west coast are fearing for their survival.
At this moment, Hurricane Ian is hitting FL hard and I fear for all who are not safe and dry. And I also know that DeSantis doesn't give a shit how many of them lose everything they have, or live or die. He's just glad that he had the opportunity that he could show he "cared," and wouldn't throw rolls of paper towels to a crowd of desperate people.
Right now, Florida is a scary, horrible place to be. And DeSantis is using it for his own ambitions.
Perhaps he can fly everyone in Florida to Martha's Vineyard.
What does Cyrano think Future President DeSantis should do????? Did Cyrano even bother to listen to what DeSantis has explained--in detail? Seems to me, the preparations he has made, including surrounding himself with competent people, is all he can do. And--how does it compare to compare to whatever Gov. Kathleen Blanco did before and during Katrina? And--is Presidential Failure Brandon doing anything more than GWB did before and during Katrina?
I hate to use the word r*tard, but sometimes, it just fits.

My my the lies this Cyrano vomits is stupid did you forget the part where De Santis did his part getting the state ready for this storm and starting from several days earlier.

For a generic cereal photo op before the first military escort to the corner of somewhere far far away boulevard and some one else's problem drive? DeSantis think more of his constituents than that, I believe.

Cyanose seems too stupid to realize that his post is contradictory. De Santis shows he "gives a shit (for those who) lose everything they have, or live or die" by "all he was doing".
What's pathetic is that while LIEden called several Dem mayors about their cities' situation, he has not called DeSantis. Evidently and thankfully, FEMA has been working with DeSantis and his people, though.

Predictable.
DU and the media with the preemptive criticism.

I guess De Santis doesn't have the Obama power of commanding the wind and rain to do his will. :loser:

The stupid ass doesn’t realize not the much can be done till it’s over. Being a Florida resident for over 45 years it’s every residents job to be prepared it’s called self reliance and responsibility. :thatsright:
You can’t depend on the goobermint to take care of you

At this hour, 300 views, and 2 replies. Something tells me Cryranos fellow Muppets dont care. Surprise!

That goes against the entire mindset of the DUmbasses. Also a Florida resident. Panama City. I remember all the trashy bullshit they said about Michael and how we deserved it in "Red State Hell". The panhandle is HEAVILY red.

DeSantis don't care unlike caring democrats Mayor "School Bus" Naggin and Kathleen Blanco.

Makes me wonder who has launch codes to the "VRWC Weather Machine". Post-President George W. Bush, 0bama said he'd stop the rise of the oceans.
No one controls this: "Birthing Person" nature does.

The Left Is Hoping DeSantis Botches Hurricane Response. Here's What They Didn't Count On.

During a press conference on Wednesday evening, Gov. Ron DeSantis warned that Floridians are still “in a very hazardous situation.” But he assured residents that the state is making a “great logistical effort to put all hands on deck” with a “massive surge of personnel and supplies to help those in need.”
Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) director Kevin Guthrie told reporters that DeSantis has hardly left his side over the last few days and worked with him until late last night. “The governor is extremely committed to being involved in the hurricane response,” he said.
On Tuesday afternoon, DeSantis’s office sent out a press release outlining the state’s response to the storm — and it’s extraordinary. Not only does his plan include assisting with practical needs like the provision of food and water, but the governor has also ordered agencies to cut red tape to ensure that people get the help they need, including waiving rules that prevent people from refilling their prescriptions early, and releasing SNAP benefits (food stamps) early to allow people to stock up on food ahead of the hurricane. DeSantis has also ensured that 100% of senior care homes have generators, and the state has supplies staged and ready to be deployed the moment it’s safe for first responders to enter the affected areas.
Following what I quoted is a very long list, organized by government entity, of actions being done under DeSantis' administration. Cyanose - and probably many/most DUpipo - are willfully ignorant of DeSantis' actions.

Googled "death toll florida hurricane ian" and stories from the democrat propaganda outlets all say 12 BUT MORE EXPECTED. I did not go any farther but I bet there is a very loose definition of "from Ian" on those 12 deaths and there(hopefully) won't be more.
To put that into perspective, that is less than half a summer weekend of death in black democrat run Chicongo.
That is why Ian is out of the democrat-fascist propagandist media in less than 36 hours. DeSantis more than competently handled a huge storm and that was not what the demo-fascist party was hoping for.
Vote blue if you want to die. Vote red if you want to live. It is that simple now.

...
How many of those "Ian Deaths" have GSR, tire tread marks/bruises, or needle tracks?

Probably around the same percentages of "victims of Covid" in the previous couple of years.

I've heard the NYT is running with the line that DeSantis is a hypocrite, based on the (faulty) premise that he opposed Federal Aid for previous hurricanes, but Florida is in need of it now. That attack says to me they may be finding it difficult to attack the way he handled the disaster itself.
