Running for office? Here's a proven way to get gobs of FREE media coverage.
Two words: BE OUTRAGEOUS!
Insult and threaten any who oppose you.
Curse.
Tell lots of TRANSPARENT lies---and then lie about lying.
Make up your resume out of whole cloth: claim degrees you don't have, wealth and expertise you don't possess and imply that you are a sexual Olympian.
Buy favorable polls and rabid "supporters".
And, of course, insist that all who don't admire and praise you are unAmerican traitors and the only way you can lose if if the "woke socialists" rig the election.
Not only do you not need ideas, principles, intelligence or real experience, those are now considered boring irrelevancies.
No need to be right; BE LOUD!

Credit where credit is due, Flatus came sort of close, through from the wrong direction. The MSM hate conservatives generally, and especially hysterically hate conservatives who fight back instead of caving or laying back and taking the hate. So be that and do that, and MSM attacks will be incessant. IOW the "outrage" is MSM folks' internal hatred being expressed.
Ted Cruz and Ron DeSantis fight back. Glenn Youngkin seems to be one who is and may continue in fighting back. They will be targets of MSM vitriol for the foreseeable years or decades.

How to get tons of favorable coverage in the media.
Three words; BE A DEMOCRAT!
Insult and threaten any who oppose you.
Talk nonsense about guns, taxes, foreign policy, the Supreme Court, current events, economics.
Refuse to debate your opponent.
Insist that those who don't admire you are insurrectionists, Russian bots, fascists, conspiracy theorists, bigots, and rubes.
Conduct staged photos and protests.
Claim that your opponent committed wrongful acts or even crimes, and that evidence of these acts exists... somewhere. Maybe at the opponent's residence. Maybe in their text messages. Maybe in some dimension we haven't explored yet.
Insist you can't possibly lose the election, unless votes were suppressed.

Licht discovered, to his horror, that the network was massively dependent on Donald Trump for ratings. Without Trump to headline CNN’s news coverage, no one was very much interested in the biased commentary and left-wing slant to the news that became CNN’s hallmark.
CNN’s profits are expected to fall below $1 billion for the first time in many years. And its prime-time coverage is drawing less than 700,000 viewers a night. Clearly, Licht had to do something.
Friday morning, Licht convened a virtual editorial meeting to discuss some of the changes he wants to make at the network.
“I want to acknowledge that this is a time of significant change, and I know that many of you are unsettled,” Licht said, according to the Hollywood Reporter, who quoted multiple people on the call. “There will be more changes, and you might not understand it or like it.”
The reality DU-folk don't want to face is that while Trump benefitted from hate-driven MSM vitriol, he was not dependent on it. On the contrary, MSM outlets, in varying degrees, were dependent on Trump being there for a target. That MSM ratings would suffer with Trump no longer in the WH was almost as predictable as the Sun rising every morning in the east.
