Title: Hearing Aids Going OTC
Post by: Eupher on August 17, 2022, 05:28:35 AM
Knock me over with a feather. FDA finally got their heads out of their butts and did something beneficial - drafted regulations that reassign hearing aids as being available over-the-counter.

Congress ordered FDA to draft regulations 5 years ago. Moving at the pace of a dead snail, they finally got it done -- effective in October.

The move is expected to reduce the cost of hearing aids significantly.

Great news.  The elderly can hopefully hold-off spending 1-or-2-grand in the final years of their lives...

I figure that'll be the one malady that I'll end up suffering with in 20-25 years or so, and I'm all for OTC remedies when possible.
