this is astonishing, considering the concerted effort on the part of the MSM to destroy her.
Palin Power: Fresh Face Now More Popular Than Obama, McCain
A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 37% hold an unfavorable view of the self-described hockey mom.
The figures include 40% with a Very Favorable opinion of Palin and 18% with a Very Unfavorable view (full demographic crosstabs are available for Premium Members). Before her acceptance speech, Palin was viewed favorably by 52%. A week ago, 67% had never heard of her.
The new data also shows significant increases in the number who say McCain made the right choice and the number who say Palin is ready to be President. Generally, John McCain’s choice of Palin earns slightly better reviews than Barack Obama’s choice of Joe Biden.
Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palin’s favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.
There is a strong partisan gap when it comes to perceptions of Palin. Eighty-nine percent (89%) of Republicans give her favorable reviews along with 33% of Democrats and 59% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

This just isnt a good day to be the Barackstar! is it ?
His bounce has begun to flatline (RCP has his advantage down to a spread of 2.6)
He lost the most watched convention title/talking point.
And now favorability to the Republican VP candidate.
Maybe he needs another extravaganza at Barackopolis ? This time with strippers and beer.

yesterday's news. :-)
that's the downside of being a cultural phenomenon . . . there's always a bigger, better cultural phenomenon
around the corner, and this time, it's name was "Sarah Palin". :hyper:

Indeed - and the worst news is there isn't time for him to regain momentum. Obama knows it. The liberal Bloggers know it. The MSM knows it.
It will take earth-shattering news to knock Sarah off the radar. Such as the sun exploding. But then again, the election wont matter much then, will it ?

a left leaning friend of mine made an interesting point today. he said that while a lot of commentators say that we have found
the republican version of barack obama, he thinks that we have found the republican version of bill clinton. let me explain. he only
meant that in the sense that she already has her die hard defenders, and he thinks that no matter what happens, nothing will "stick"
to her. he meant it as a compliment, but I thought it was an insightful observation from a true "swing voter".
but her speech "flipped" him. he was leaning obama, but now he is "firmly behind that chick". (his words) :-)

And to think this happened without a carefully crafted four year program ! Just a lovely lady with moxie, a rapier sharp brain and a desire to serve.

Just goes to show if you put a person with sensibilities and common sense out there...the voters will respond with their vote.
I'm not even sure the election will be close anymore...I think the R ticket will win firmly with no room for recounts, protests or any other usual liberal trick.

I dunno about that. I think McCain has a much better chance now, but I'm sure the election will be close. There are a LOT of idiots out there voting for Obama based either on the empty platitude of "change" (even though they cannot describe what that exactly means) or... his skin color. I work with quite a few idiots, a couple being militant blacks who think that anybody that doesn't vote for the Obamessiah is racist, or if he does become president, he'll be assassinated and start a race war. Idiots, like I said.
